    Dear all,
    I am patiently trying to track down missing original bits for my '96 challenge.
    As mine was used for racing, the original OMP Vid in kevlar carbon were thrown away when they reached their limit date.

    I have been exploring a few options and can't see anything truely satisfactory:
    - Can't find used correct seats. Seems they have all vanished (pm me if you have a pair to sell)
    - OMP stopped production ages ago and apparently can't make a small run as production tool has moved on
    - With changes in racing seats specifications, I can't even find an OMP seat in their current catalogue that is somewhat similar and in the correct material. I'd happily take a suggestion there too

    I am sure there are other owners in the same position. As anyone found a solution ?
    My rubbish, heavy and somewhat too narrow fiberglass seats have to go but I would like to make a good move towards originality

    PS as you have worked out, I am not running officially sanctionned races so FIA homolgation is not an issue.

    The car rhd car recently sold at auction in the uk had a brand new set which we found on ebay in holland... So they do come up for sale.

    The 99 spec cars had fibre omp Evoluzione seats ... Without any special challenge writing on it just omp logos (well mine did anyway)

    Best compromise that's acceptable would be omp wrc seats in my view, they were used in 360chal before Ferrari switched to sabelt in the 430chal

    I looked at the wrc for my gtb and the thigh bolster is much higher than the ars or the originals which would make getting in and out a pita with the wide sills in a 355. Depending on your cage configuration it might not make a difference, though.

    i have wrc in my 99 car, with the cage single side bars, its ok

    If originality is an issue, correctly date coded OMP Vidcarbons do come up from time to time, won't be cheap though. I've found them in Japan and Europe in race and rally cars.

    There was a later version of the Vid in fibreglass that an be painted & recovered.
    The OEM fireproof covering material can be sourced, the Challenge logo's can be embroidered. From an originality perspective you only need 1 seat for the car, as there was no passenger seat.

    I have been searching for New OEM for over 5 years and so far nothing... a few used ones pop up now and then. I did see a set of new Carbon Kevlar Challenge seats for the 348 here in Houston. They even had the 348 Challenge on the seat. I to am looking for the black carbon vid seats (Qty. 2).

    The search continues...

    Currently I have Sparco 00828FRS EVO 2 Racing Seat Red.

    This is so annoying especially since most of the original seats were discarded when their limit was reached...

    Ferrari parts are expensive.

    Rare Ferrari parts (ie challenge parts) are extremely expensive.

    Not hard to believe at all.
