    The additional '76 Turbo at Symbolic has a sale pending as well. Appears to have a 930/50 engine and chassis # prior to the 934’s (1 of 400 homologation production turbos).

    Wow? "delivery in October 75"? That would have rolled out the factory about the week after mine, and my build date was 10/76.

    They must have shipped them out fast back then?

    How did you get the build date for your car? It’s interesting as the Symbolic car also has a build date and I thought that information was very difficult to get (perhaps lost in the archives) from the Porsche factory. For U.S. turbos it’s very easy to see the build date on the door jam VIN decal but for RoW, I thought you had to guess based on the chassis #, instrument dates, etc.

    I'm going by some hand written note in my cars paperwork.......

    The car is fairly untouched and all the date stamps run up to 9/75.

    None of this is proof.

    For everything known about these cars, there is a lot that's unknown.

    RHD numbers for 3Lt's would be nice to know.

    You might want to send an e-mail to the Classic Throttle Shop. Their sales description for ’75 #0080 mentioned there were 6 RHD 3-ltr Turbos (or perhaps '75's, I'll check the printed ad I have) delivered to Australia.

    Looks like this month "Total 911" magazine has a feature on Magnus Walker driving the 3.0 litre turbo and the 991 turbo back to back. I have yet to read it, but I know which will be faster, and I know which will be more fun!!!

    There where 15 RHD 1975's built. 6 of them came to Australia.

    In 1976 Australia received 14 930's and 21 in 77.

    I can not find any info on 76 and 77 RHD numbers?

    My car is #91 for 76 and I am yet to see an earlier RHD VIN for 76.

    I remember somebody quoting that number on Impact Bumpers forum?

    Recently Magnus Walker quoted that number when referring to his latest Aus. Del. 75 930.

    So neither of these sources are gospel. But 15 come's up from time to time.

    15 seems too low. I first saw the 15 RHD # on the ’75 Rennlist ad so it’s probably just being passed along with no actual reference.

    I have seen these gold / silver and gold / black components connected by small diameter hoses on some 3.0 engines, but not others. Are these for the boost gauge? Can someone please identify them for me? Your help is appreciated.

    Looking back, I realized that Panorama’s December 1974 article on the new Porsche Turbo was a word-for-word translation of the October 1974 Paris Salon press release. Their translation of “Krönung Einer Bewährten Konzeption” was “Coronation of a Proven Concept.”

    The Dec ’74 issue also includes a photo of the sliver 1973 Frankfurt show car at the Porsche Museum still in original LHD fitment and equipped with its original tail without the small secondary grill that is fitted today.

    BTW: this is the ad that has the 15 RHD #. It also mentions that this is the only ’75 Turbo salmon metallic but Jose knows this is not the case :)

    Thanks for posting. I missed the opportunity to meet Jose when I missed the Dawe's holiday party. They are doing a '78 930 for me from bare metal and did the refresh on my '76. After decades of running a race shop, their pivot into restorations carries a unique competitive advantage: they have piles of OEM parts they've ripped out of street cars converting them to racers!

    Finally got my OEM faceplate mounting kit which completes the Bamberg restoration. NOS mic, Bamberg restored by Hernan at German Radio. Faceplate came from CARs in Germany, complete with installation kit. iPod port concealed in Ashtray so I can listen to '70's music mix on Spotify! Turbo Carrera exhaust note + Donna Summers= unbeatable period vibe!

    BTW: Each time I do a little project like this I'm amazed at how precisely engineered a Porsche is. No British, Italian, or God knows, American car radio would install with such tight tolerances as this...

    Business end of the 934 entered by Sepp Greger, Egon Everts and Jurgen Lassig at the January 31 – 1 February, 1976 24-Hours of Daytona (chassis # 930 670 0155). Note the stock factory 930 tail (A/C version without the “A/C works”), 930 engine bay decals, inserted tow-hook, and pre-drilled registration plate holes in the aluminum bumper. Started 11th on the grid but did not finish due to engine oil cooler failure (ran as high as fifth before retiring). Photos from the April 1976 Panorama.
