I say we close and delete this whole thread.
Let him start over with a new and improved first time offered post ?
    Anybody ?
This baby is lasting longer than the hangover I had between 1975 thru 1981.

The one thing I will say is, I still do not understand why the seller did not disclose the title status in the initial post. Everyone can say, "Well you could have known by the price," but all that does is leave it open to conjecture and guessing.

A simple, "the car does have a salvage title, which is reflected in my asking price," would have sufficed and saved a lot of trouble for the seller. The subsequent posts by the seller did nothing to help his cause.

The car would be a cool buy for $30k, to turn in to a track car or just enjoy without having to worry too much about it. But with the seller's attitude, I don't think it's likely the car will sell.

My attitude is not included in the sale..

.you open a repetitive question that has been answered many times over ...that IS included.

Exactly. Your attitude is included, hence no sale. Only reasonable explanation given how long this car has been for sale, even with the semi disclosure. What else hasn't been disclosed that still might be missed by a PPI?

Turning up the shower now to drown out the apparent singing.......

    Happy Holidays to all.

    Regards,
    Jerry

Attitude is from both sides, hence no sell perhaps? This is not all one sided readers and what you think of my personage is a lot further off than my opinion of a few "contributers"
But for the most part this has been entertaining, enlitening, aggrivating, funny as hell at times, appreciative, unimaginative and far out in thought and common sense AND, and I wish they would bring "OPUS" back to us ..............Tom

Advertising a car on F-Chat isn't like advertising it elsewhere.
People bring their cars here because its a knowledgable, interested, community.
A community with an interest in Ferrari that goes beyond any one car. As a community we have an implicit level of trust and standards of behavior.

While the OP may have not been duplicitous, in his initial listing he was less than forthcoming with what anyone in the market would consider an extremely important fact.
When called on it he misled us on the cause of the salvage title. When called on that he became abusive and derisive.

This thread stopped being about the car long ago.

Without reading all 25 pages, did the seller actually ever defintively reveal the details of the salvage?

Yes it did. However the temptation to retort is far to great to ignore and for the most part the thread has been humorous and entertaining, depending on each persons humor or lack of. The thread should have concerned those interested as a buyer, not just tire kickers and as one post stated...1% or less responding were actual buyers and contacted me for full information...But some posters were not Ferrari owners and were outraged the most but love the posturing. By the way, implicit trust and standards of behavior should be applied both ways and perhaps you have failed to view it as such or have not read some of the responses...or
I could just say, what do you expect from a used car dealer when all the attention is given to kicking tires and singing in the shower, or posturing ones self as above others. Read post #16
Your post is certainly not about the car but continues the thread more so.

If I was contacted, yes, details were given to prospective buyers
To non buyers...it was of no concern to you and I hope the future owner keeps the details private as well because it,s almost as funny as the efforts made to guess or find out thru deceit, lies, fraudulent inquirey, you know, the higher standards of this site and some members.

Interesting. I am intrigued by the strategy of defending yourself (at least that seems to be what you are doing) by referencing one of your most derisive posts. Although it does seem consistent with the prevailing sales strategy of the car.

This thread should die of course, but it's just too weird to let go of....

Either intentionally or not you still don't get it.
Your initial listing and subsequent posts are an insult to the community.

Man, this is weird. I'm new to this forum (been a pcar guy for years). Just started to do some research as I'm considering 308's, 328's and 348's.

No disrespect to the seller.. he may be a great guy in person, but this thread is like spraying pepper spray in the face of potential buyers. No way I would call you, and trust me I'm a legit buyer looking for a car.

F-Chat is the best source of information and expertise when it comes to old Ferraris. When I bought mine what I learned here made it a far better experience.

Which is why people who pollute the site repulse me.

Fchat is an unforgiving beast. Tactile. Unrelenting. All knowing. Fchat knows what you ate for breakfast this morning. Post a VIN and you will have the third owner from 1993 to 1995 tell you about a problem with an oil change at (insert indy shop) in the spring of 1995. You have 24 hours in a day. Fchat has 24 hours x 100's of members who live on it.

Fchat always wins. The OP lost when he started this thread the way he did. All the rest is just Fchat entertainment.
