I would totally disagree with that comment. I have run into Jay Leno 3 times in my life. 2 times at a car show where he was giving people rides in his mc laren. The one that was built in the mid 90's. I believe it is worth about 10 million in today's market. The other time I ran into him at a magazine stand and I had a conversation with him.

The guys that are pompous are the one's that run around L.A. In their f-cars and lambos that would not give you the time of day.

Not to be argumentative, but in the absence of a person who has been convicted of an obviously heinous crime, IMO the answer to your question is Yes.

Perhaps you don't like his public image? Or, what he stands for? Or, don't care for his comedy? Like I said, am not trying to be contrary, just curious. Thanks...T

I have a problem with someone who is a backstabber, steals material from other comedians and basically does not conduct themselves honorably in their business dealings.

Perhaps when you meet such a person and talk cars, have a few laughs and a beer, they may seems like a down-to-earth wonderful person but there is more to it when evaluating an individual's integrity and overall quality as a human being.

Does this come from first hand experience of dealing with him or is it based on second/third/fourth etc., etc., hand information from other parties?

Technically speaking, only one of those mentioned in your list is actually a backstabber.

I have had no dealings with him whatsoever but I know enough facts about Jay Leno that I do not like him at all, as a matter of fact I despise him.

But I guess it's normal that him being such a passionate "car guy", people here easily forgive and forget and he gets a lot of praise, attention and admiration on this forum. But sometimes it gets to me and I reply...

If we all agreed and all had the same opinion it would be boring.

My sources are rock solid and not from the Internet....as a matter of fact, with all the krrap he got in the media, there isn't much dirt about him on the Internet which is rather surprising.

But thank you for your assumption Mr. Incognito. And based on your remark, if I read on Fchat (which is online) that he's actually a nice guy, I should probably not believe it right? Cause it's on the Internet!

Leno regularly shows up at Supercar Sunday in Los Angeles and is very approachable and willing to discuss cars.

As for "The guys that are pompous are the one's that run around L.A. In their f-cars" you just don't know the right crowd. Sure there are the pompous ones (lambo owners), the clueless ones and the spoiled ones. It just seems to go with expensive toys - whatever they are and I'm sure you have them in your town too. The F-car crowd that I associate with in LA are the guys that like to get their hands dirty and are always willing to share with the car community.

Based on that theory then, we shouldn't believe that Jay Leno is:

Because we read it on the internet!

You're trying to use the internet to discredit the internet, but by discrediting the internet, you discredit your own statement because it's on the very format that you're telling us all not to believe!

It's like a Politician saying: "Believe Me when I tell you not to believe a word I say!"

Can you believe in a man who tells you not to believe in him?

I was being sarcastic because of Sburke's post hinting that I was somehow a gullable-fall-for-everything-on-the-internet type of guy.

I didn't bring up the Internet thing, I just demonstrated how silly it was to use the very same platform while discrediting it at the same time.

I had a similar experience at Boardwalk. I was in Dallas on the way to an autocross at Mineral Wells and had several hours to kill. I was looking at 2 430s at dealers in Long Island and San Diego. One had a full rosso interior and I wanted to see a leather swatch. I dropped by Boardwalk to look at one. They could not have been nicer. I ended up getting a tour of the shop and their storage area. They had an F40 and an F50 in the shop that someone had just bought at auction.

Yes but it is HIS 550...

As stated in the '97 Ferrari yearbook.

I wasn't aware that he owned ANY F-cars based on the previous threads.
