Wow, I've not even heard of one getting close to that. Mind you, I have not seen an FI Anni car for sale at the 500 mark suggested earlier either. From a driving standpoint, if early LP400 cars are close to 2 M then 700-800 for a DDQV is good value...from a driving perspective. I say all this with slight tongue in cheek.
I agree, Ive never seen the elusive $500k 25th, and if an actual sale exists, perhaps someone can post an actual chassis number and means by which the number can be independently corroborated. Truth be told, I haven't seen the $400k one either, with corresponding chassis number. As regards the LP400, if ever the expression "one sale does not a market make" applied it would be with 0010 which sold at Pebble Beach to people connected with the car's original ownership. Unfortunately, wind of the interest of the parties occurred before the auction, and you can draw your own conclusions as to what happened next. The previous $1.2m sale for 0066 at Amelia was in my opinion the benchmark, but even that number is high and it remains to be seen if it will hold up.
Agreed. I have never seen a FI 25th for 500 but I thought you had eluded to it. With asking prices of the current cars for sale as they are, the price of admission is at least consistent among them for new buyers. In this case the sellers have some control as they all seem to support a new level.
The past 30 days has brought some interesting sales numbers for Countachs across the board, and the next 30 days will do the same.
Forgive my lack of a link, but I believe Kerbeck had a 25th with ASKING price of $499k, unless it sold. Edit: Sorry, not Kerbeck. http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/listing/1989/lamborghini/countach/963762
Petrolicious does a nice job of capturing why people love certain cars. This short article and video capture the Countach quite well. Driven by Design: Lamborghini Countach | Petrolicious Image Unavailable, Please Login
You mean more sharing like this? Series 1 400s currently undergoing a complete restoration, Series 2 400s for assessment to restore OR preserve as is. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, exactly like this! Thanks for sharing. I have just begun the restoration of a Series 3 400s and will share some pictures as well. That will give us all 3 of the 400s cars of which to follow the restoration.
Thanks, great pictures. Preserve the red car,if possible. Always nice with a well worn good running car, kinda like your favorit Levi s 501s.
Does anybody have a historical overview of what shocks were on the Countach at different points? Early cars had Ariston and Way assado, later they had adjustable Koni? At what point were the changes made?
Its a USA DOT compliance agent application, same as on the ex-Malcolm Forbes LP400S S2. So, to answer your question, the bumper bar & larger fog-lights are not correct as per factory production, its a post-production modification. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is correct #042 & #232 And if anyone has early 80's photos of # 042, I would be most greatfull. There appears to be some discrepency between factory records and finds on the car when I stripped it. Specifically interior colour. Hans S
Thx Joe, I have those records too... In the spirit of preserving originality, much care and time is spent on dismantling any project. This piece of original trim was removed from the base of the steering column aswell as 4 other small pieces in the same colour. All discovered under the newer retrimmed interior. Judging by how well glued these were in the car, I can only assume they have some connection to the car from back then. Regardless, the owner wants the interior redone in this colour, just trying to determine the most likely CORRECT name for colour. My guess is tobacco or cognac. All input on this matter most welcome.... Hans S Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe - looking through the history of this thread - on page 37 is that a picture of a young Joe Nastasi?
That's what I thought. Would be great to get him a copy of this; if you still have the file, I'll share it with him with a credit to you of course.
