The fender flares added were the Bobnar Extensions from his second Turbo, do not really suite a regular LP400S.

The Bobnar Extensions were the first items to come off the car, including numerous 4 inch carpenter screws that held them on. Two of these screws even securing the gas tanks to the outer wings.....

Emilio sourced correct S1 400S flares which are getting close for final fitting. The car will be returned to its original look when completed.

Not been in touch with Rolf since the car was purchased in Switzerland. Additionally very little history on the car was offered when purchased. Understandably regarding the amount of serious TLC this car desperately needed.

When finished though, it will be one of the best documented bare frame to completed car restorations on a Countach, a deserving restoration for an early S1 400S.

Yes it was. You were kind enough to pass on Emilio's contact info and share a little history end experience with your own car.

Started working on the car again. Took a break since the owner had serious doubts that an early Countach would increase in value. Bought more cars instead. Like many, he is very interested and thrilled with today's activity in the market and would very much like to see it on the road again soon. Shirt sleeves rolled up, time to get crackin.....

Yes, I got the right people together and pushed hard to get the Miura wheels into production. Believe the Sinatra owner got a set from the first batch if I remember, ONLY for fun use, not concourse use.
Since then nearly ALL the other types have been reproduced.
There is ALOT more to this story, however, NOT suitable to share here.

A picture with the reproduced Miura wheels. The owner has since secured an original set SV wheels which will be used instead for cruising around.

When I said their original gold color, I meant the wheels on my car came gold from the factory but they had been polished down. After searching as many of you have it became clear to me that I would just spend the time and match from the untouched gold spare. I sent it off to get matched and after going over a few my painter picked this one. I'll post what he used next week when I can get a hold of him should anyone be interested.

I also used another's car to match from as after putting my spare next to his it seemed a tad darker but his is an 86 and mine was an 84 so I somewhat went a tiny bit lighter in the end from the spare. I don't know if there was ever ONE gold used. I think it varied from year to year is my conclusion.

I can almost say for sure that there were different shades over 20yrs.

 

Interesting, my 87 came with gold wheels,but black spare.

What's the Story behind this car?
So far nothing known, the lambo registry doesn't have a single bit.
