Pulled old clutch off today, check out the cracks in the flywheel, buying parts is never ending. It's unfair that all the jerks before me got to enjoy driving it without a care in the world and I'm stuck fixing it all.

Good looking stuff, sent them an email for pricing, I'll probably go for superformance replacement in for $500 range, can't imagine racing to the hardware store or coffee gettin sideways and slipping that clutch magnum style very often

Shaft and gear received yesterday, thanks Ben. So the infernal antifreeze leak that was keeping me awake for a bit was traced to the block seam, where the clutch housing meets the block just under the starter. When I removed the gears and clutch shell it relieved tension on left lower locating studs, bam... Leak. After removing flywheel I tightened all the 10mm nuts in star pattern (all loose) and the 13mm nuts that are in there. Leak stopped. By the way so did one of the many oil leaks as well. Hopefully this helps someone, if your in the clutch check all those nuts (yours not mine) ( we're all friends here, check mine too)

I removed the alternator all the way to remove the starter to check for a leak, I spun the alternator by hand and can hear rear bearing squeal, yet another on the to do list. Leave no stone unturned

Oh and out of curiosity, why does no one do a full polish on all the aluminum parts, I used to do all this on the Harleys and the race cars, easier to clean and screams fancy

When I took that big plate behind the clutch off I also had signs of coolant in one of the dead cavities. I assumed it came in from above from one of the coolant hoses leaking over time. I could find no explanation except for that.

On my car the big bearing (front I think) was cheap and plentiful. The other bearing (rear, I think) was rare and mildly expensive. But pretty easily changeable.

"originality" would be the argument against polishing.

Technically I think polished does not dissipate heat as well as the stock finish, so that argument could be made...if one is insane ; )

Nothing new to report, endlessly waiting for news on the flywheel. My bdays pretty soon so I suggested to the family that they get me the ferrari sign that's been sitting on my local Craigslist forever. Nice surprise is that it was commissioned to be made for the auto show way back when, then hung in old ferrari Seattle for all eternity, it's hand painted on multiple layers of wood, 5' tall, paints all cracked with age. Love that it's hand made
