Does the 16m also suffer the same issues such as: Faulty headers, F1 Actuator Pump failure, abnormal clutch wear etc...
Can't answer for sure on every item but... Scud/16M headers don't have a pre cat, any failure is therefore not going to cause catastrophic engine detonation when cat material is drawn back into the cylinders on a regular F430. Headers have been known to suffer thermal expansion stress fractures, but much less often I believe. Different F1 parts running at higher pressure with uprated gearbox internals - reliability seems very good even with lots of track usage. Abnormal clutch wear is more often down to driver than car, many get 20-30k + miles.
Does anyone know how many 16M's are for sale in the US? I only see 1 or 2 up for sale currently? Sent from my 16M
I just checked the Nero 16M at Ferrari of Newport Beach. Looks like it has sold. Looked like a very nice low mileage car. Did not last long! 2009 Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spider 16M **SOLD** - Newport Beach California area Ferrari dealer near Los Angeles California ? New and Used Ferrari dealership Long Beach Anaheim Van Nuys California Took a closer look. Looks like the Rossa Corsa car at Ferrari of Long Island is also gone--or at least not on the website anymore. The Nero car at Ferrari of Seattle (10K miles) is stil being advertised as for sale.
Wynn had two 16Ms when I visited back in November that were both sold when I re-visited last weekend. These cars are obviously moving fast in the ~$250k range.
I went on a country-wide hunt as I really wanted Rosso Corsa on the 16M. Very limited options and ultimately very happy with the Nero/Nero from FONB. Was a two owner car. Fully serviced prior to sale and in pristine condition- great service by the dealer (George)!
Congratulations. Looked like a really nice low miles car. I especially like the red calipers, red stitching and, blackleather/red fabric seats!
There's a Nero/Nero 16M with 10.5K miles for $239K at Ferrari of Seattle: Used 2009 Ferrari F430 For Sale | Seattle WA
Here is a Canadian 16M for sale with very low mileage. I have no interest or affiliation with this car or dealership, just wanted to post the ad to contribute to this thread. KULU Motorcar Inc.
Just bought my 16M in December with 282 miles...now at 353miles after being in town for a few days - all I can say it is an unbelievable car! The car pretty much tick all the boxes for me on what I was looking for in a 16M. 2009 Ferrari 430 Scuderia 16M spider | Copley Motorcars
You lucky bastard. While I'd been searching with intent to buy a white one for months, I decided one day that with the low mileage and traditional colors, I'd switch gears and make an offer on this one. Sent a text to my buddy one night that I was going to make an offer on it the next morning. Got up the next morning and the car was no longer in the Ferrari section, but in the sold section - he had that car for months and he sells it the day before I was going to buy it!!!! Oh well. Congrats! Glad you're driving it and I hope you have as much fun with it as I would.
Thank you all...it is my first Ferrari and a boyhood dream come true! I cannot be more pleased with my decision. I'm fortunate to be the "lucky bastard";-). Ironically, I was also looking for a white 16M but then decided to go for red. My next Ferrari will most likely be a white one, holding out for a 458 Speciale A in about 4 or 5 years... As a side note to those that are looking at 16M's - I've tracked US and international (mostly UK & mainland Europe) asking prices for quite some time...it appears that the 16M started going up internationally around mid 2014 and holding fairly steady in the US...it got me off the sideline and pull the trigger and drive the car...life is too short to just look and dream about a 16M. My expectation is that the car will continue to depreciate, but at a slower rate than cars that are not limited, but hey you miss out on one heck of a big grin if you continue to wait for the market to go significantly lower.
Congrats on your car. I bought mine two years ago and it had 565 miles on the clock so like yours, it was brand new. I'm now pushing 5K miles and I share my driving across a few cars, but usually default to the 16M because it's just that good. I just upgraded the paddles form the small, OEM design to the Carbinio paddles which are quite a bit longer (in both directions) and it makes a big difference. Enjoy your new car... it's truly the best car I've ever owned.
Congrats! Welcome to the wolf pack! I too bought mine w a 3-digit mileage count on the odometer. 890 miles then, and a healthy 12k miles now. And like you've said, life is too short to keep waiting. At the time, many said I overpaid but after 3 1/2 years of thorough enjoyment, I have only lost 10K, give or take a few bills, by today's market standards. BEST 10K I'VE EVER LOST/SPENT!

Is this about where fair market value is in the current market? Seems like a lower supply of 16M's today. Sent from my 16M
