Sorry to bring this heart breaking story back up for you, but I just came across it and just wanted to say how sorry I was too hear of your terrible loss in your best friend.

Mans best friend are like family, and after losing mine a long time ago it took me a long time to get another ( didn't want to allow myself to go through it again), but my wife recently turned up with one and is now part of the family, until the week before Christmas when I caught some local kids trying to steal her. Caught them red handed at their home with our dog. So relieved to have found her.

I miss cascais /estoril so much. I used to walk from my hotel in estoril to cascais 4-5 times during my stay when I was doing some work in Portugal. There was a beautiful but tiny sandwich shop just after the albatros hotel at the start of the shops in cascais. Everything made fresh by hand by the owner and his daughter. Their Vegetable croquettes were out of this world.

Yes, I have fallen in love with my FF. It is more appropriate for my age and especially where I live (Dallas, Texas). The 458 would have been perfect if I still lived in the mountains. In the city the FF is more relaxed yet exciting when wanted. I especially like being less noticed by those around me (until they are behind me). No one can miss the sound of that V12! I am anxious to go on road trips but must wait until April. I am serving Grand Jury duty so must stay near until then. We are already planning on driving to the Pacific Northwest this summer. Driving the Pacific coast in our FF will be another memorable adventure.
Do you get frustrated driving in the traffic around Caiscais and Lisbon? It felt never-ending when we were there in October. It seems the tourist season goes on almost year round. Portugal has become very popular, especially with the international wealthy. We will return to explore more of the coastal towns. When we do, we will make every effort to meet you in Caiscais.
    Have a wonderful new year.
    Cheers
    Richard

Fred, I was born in NYC, grew up in New Rochelle and practiced law my entire life in the City until moving here 25 years ago. The Museum's corporate charter by the Board of Regents (we're incorporated under the Education Law of NY) dates from 1998, took us four years to raise the capital, negotiate with the NYS Saratoga Spa State Parks Commission the lease for the old Saratoga Bottling Plant in the Park and renovate the building to create the Museum.

Two to three new exhibitions each year, Ferrari, Bugatti, last year a Ford Mustang exhibit to commemorate the car's 50th anniversary, 'woodies', BMW, one called "The Summer of 1957", cars from the collection of Nicola Bulgari - who served for some years on our Board of Trustees. We have also run Spring Invitational Concours for many years and now co-sponsor a major fall Concours d'Elegance with Hemmings. Here's the url:

y'all come! and give me a heads-up call when you do!

Congratulations. You will find that the FF is a wonderful long distance runner. We take it literally across country on long driving days, always arriving fresh and alert.

As far as attention is concerned, once you get out of the city where people do see Ferraris, it gets a great deal of attention. I was surprised. For example, at a gas stop in the Navajo reservation in New Mexico, a fellow came over from his pickup and said, "An FF. We don't see many of these up here :)"

    Nuno.

I wouldn't expect to see many FF s anywhere in the Southwest. I am chuckling about the FF being known on a reservation. Did he recognize the car or look at the emblem?
I really want to get up into the mountains to feel the F of the FF. There will still be plenty of snow and wet when I'm through with Grand Jury service in April. Road Trip then!
    Cheers, Noblesse Oblige.

Fritz, My wife and I arrived at our hotel in Aspen yesterday and our bellman said he was from Portugal. I asked if he knew of Cascais. His eyes lit up and said that is where he is from. He proceeded to tell us at enjoyable length how nice it is there, just as you have done in these threads, which I look forward to reading.

I think he knew it. He just sauntered up from his pickup and chimed in.

Then there was a bunch of kids who came by at Camp Verde AZ as I was adjusting tire pressure (4 psi higher pressure when you climb up on the CO Plateau). They swooned when I opened the hood to reveal the V12.

Mountain roads are fun in the FF or any Ferrari. In the FF put it in Sport and the car says, "OK, let's rock and roll." One of the best runs of my life was CO 67 in an F430 running from Woodland Park NW of Colorado Springs along the front range back down to Castle Rock. No cars, no cops. Perfect.

I think is nice to stay here.

Almost three years with the suite FF, the best car in the world...

Liked so much that next week will take delivery of my new FF Rosso Maranello with everything I wished to have had during the long time enjoying the FF Bianco Avus.
Almost three years of D/D use, plus of 26kms and not a single problem or defect...

Saw my Rosso Maranello FF for first time this morning and can't wait for next monday...

Congratulations Fritz. Beautiful as avus white. I personally like to see the grill , makes a balanced contrast to the red. Very good luck and many kilometers with this new FF.
    A big hug .

Chrome grill is more elegant. My 2015 Nero Daytona FF also has chrome grill, I like that so much that I change my incoming Nero Daytona F12 to chrome grill also to match the FF, my current F12 has the grey grill which I kind of hate.

Congratulations Fritz. What a wonderful FF. I like the front grill as it kind of matches with the rims. Very elegant spec.

    Enjoy the new toy.

    Cheers,

I agree with others the grill should stay. It matches the polished edge to the wheels !

    Enjoy,
