I read a great article today in the WSJ about the "models" who they hire to staff these shows.
The models have gone from being a pretty face to being brand ambassadors. They know the products, ask questions to consumers, transcribe their own notes, and communicate those back to the auto maker.

The auto makers are taking a page out of the Startup playbook. Make a product that people love. They're using these pretty models (whom they have said should be "accessible" to Joe Blow Auto Show Attendee) to help them understand what potential consumers love and hate about the cars.

That said, I still think that organized auto shows are a bit silly. But, they're a tradition, and there's something to be said for that. As a guy who walks through an auto show and could buy just about any car on the floor, the people I've encountered don't know their product and aren't thrilling to talk with. If that's changing, I'll be pleased.

Thanks for the pics. The NSX is mmmm mmmm good.

Note the absence of Ferrari; they were listed but I could not find them.

if you walk through the tunnel of the Ford display, it is to the left just before the Shelby GT350 R next to the wall.

I'm planning on going back tomorrow morning to see the rest of the show :)

Can you snap a pic of the tire size so I can check if anyone makes snow tires?
