Thanks. Friend took them. I kinda take the car for granted since I own it, but he did a good job with pics. Here's a link to the gallery. Shane - Jdavidson
With prices like this there may/will be a few sales coming from this thread. Whose will be the first?
I'm surprised - I've had several inquiries and offers as a result of this thread, including a no-hassle $65k from a reputable member here who was not joking... But my wife says we should keep the car for now. And there's really nothing out there I can think of that I would rather have. Maybe I'm dumb for passing up a quick easy sale...
Yes of course, you are right. The owner's manual shows the correct name of the two models. The codes (type reference) are just shown on the registration papers. I just wanted to explain something more, the name is written on the back of the car so it's not very difficult to know, as i have them here below my feet. Of course there isn't any 328 turbo, but there is just a turbo that is like the 328. Its name is just "GTB turbo" or "GTS turbo". My posts were just to share some info i read on the car documents i have. Hope my writings helped a bit to learn something more about those two models: i drove seven different turbo cars last year, i restored four of them last year and i still have three at home and even I just did a PPI last week about one more, so my one is just an opinion, but written by someone that knows them, maybe. I have to say thanks to many here that helped me a lot, as here there are very big experts of 3x8 cars: that's amazing as they are Americans, French, English, Germans, Dutch and so on, while i was born and always lived very close to the Factory. My contribute to the forum is my turbo models experience: that's all what i can share. Hope you can appreciate it. Ok? Thank you very much. ciao
I think you made a wise choice Jeff! I sold my GTB QV one year thinking I wanted to move up to a 360 coupe and it took me about four months to regret that decision. Won't make the same mistake twice. Way to go man!
I would have sold my 328 by now but haven't for exactly the same reason wife says "keep it." Not sure when she'll agree to letting me sell MY car.
Nice photos! If that is twin peaks in the background of your Speedster, I used to work in the building across the street
Yes, that's looking north toward the Carmel Mountain Ranch area. Big business park area off Scripps Poway Road.
I will be celebrating 20 yrs of ownership this yr with my gt4. Have many fond experiences with it inc restoring it myself! Also some not so nice ones, mainly some other F owners looking down their noses and feeling like a poor relation. May I say though not on this excellent site with true enthusiast's. I am glad that the 308 range has become sought after. I hope they continue to rise in value. For me to part it would have to pay my mortgage off which is about £90k. Would I buy another F car after not sure, don't think anything would be able to replace 20 yr of experiences. It would be a sad day!
So how would that work? If I want to sell my '89 R/T 328 GTS, 32k miles, located in MD, how would you determine what you would pay me for it? I'm sure I could sell it privately but I am not even REMOTELY interested in dealing with "selling" and making appointments for people to look at it, etc. I would just want it gone with no hassles. So what's the process?
I expect offers above $100K to start pouring in for mine due to recent cosmetic modifications. My daughter presented this to me as a holiday present to which she commented, 'dad, this is hilarious'....(she's 6). I open the bidding at $99K for my nicely appointed 1986 328...including mods! I might be able to help you register your car here in CA but, we need to check a couple of things on your car. PM me your contact info and I'll let you know what we need.
I should be offering a very affordable Euro 85 GTS QV shortly, just finalising sellers details.........
I'm interested! But I'm sure my wife will put a stop to that! Euro QV,This could get crazy! I feel a bidding war coming on.
And of course you are correct! We all give our opinion and then discussion arises accordingly that's all. I'm not saying you are right or wrong. Just giving you an answer according to my opinion, which of course is not the last word!!
Call me crazy, but right now, I seriously don't think I would consider selling my very good condition, fully original, perfectly working 49K KM silver early Vetroresina for anything below 300K$. In other words, I'm just not ready to sell it! ;-) It is my first Ferrari, and the fact the previous owner specifically chose me because he believed I would take good care of his baby and enjoy it for a long time is an important factor for me.
So, I went to the Ferrari dealer today and after having run through a whole bunch of classics, I came across 2 models that attracted my attention: 1. A red 1987 208 GTB Turbo in more than perfect condition, Classiche approved, 42000 kms, 2 owners, full history and all tools included. Price : 75K euro (86K USD). Really straight out of the sales brochure, absolutely perfect! 2. A 1981 GTSi in two-tone dark grey/black (boxer color option), burgundy red interior (extremely rare inside and outside colors), low mileage. The seller told me they would do everything needed to get him in "showroom condition" (things will be put on paper) before selling. Price: also 75K euro. I feel ok with 75K euro for the Turbo one, but 75K euro for the GTSi seems a lot. Here's a pic of the GTSi Image Unavailable, Please Login
