Hi, In case you know someone interested in selling one of these cars, please PM me. Not interested in Automatic trannies, not interested in 2+2 and not interested in project cars. Prefer cars in top shape. thanks in advance.
I've owned multiple 240Z and 280Zs (not ZX, although had one of those too), so I'm always on the hunt. Check Classic Zcar Club - The Front Page and hybridz.org classifieds. Prices may be a little optimistic, but then those are enthusiast sites and the cars will be of better quality (which you'll want for Z unless it's a project you are looking for). Good luck!
Hi I have a friend who is selling a beautiful 71 240z Californian car. This is not a project car.If you are interested I can get the ptice and pictures.
82 2+2. Had not thought about selling but think I can. Pm me if interested Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beautiful 240Z - like it. Memory - I owned a 71 white 240Z back in 80s when I was s student , still missing her so much , I own just a model now ...
Ouch - the Hyman prices are way too high. You can get a solid one under $20K - I appreciate the higher valuation, but it's unrealistic. Check out the link I sent - Classic Zcar Club. They have a classified section, you'll get an idea of pricing.
I've owned five 240z's. Lighter and more like a go kart compared to the 280. Easier to work on, modify and hop-up. This is just a personal preference from a driving experience standpoint. The rear axle centerline between the differential and hub on the '71's was problematic. I can't remember the exact issue (harmonics?) but in 72 I believe they moved the differential aft to correct the problem. They used a different cross member and driveline, I remember that. My biggest gripe is NONE that I ever found came from the factory with a good A/C system. I had one with a dealer installed aftermarket system that kind of worked. The ducting design was the issue. Sort like the A/C in a 308, virtually non-existent by today's standards. Cabin ventilation (with windows up) was not good. Even here in the Pacific Northwest you would boil in the summer and freeze in the winter. I still loved them though. Stay away from 260's because of the stop-gap nightmare emissions system that killed off the performance and dependability. For better systems (a/c, heating, fuel injection), comfort and drivability I would go with the 280Z. (My brother had one)
I met someone who is associated with bob and also the BRE team and he owns a car dealer now but man the interesting things I learned from the "HAYDAY" of motorsports with the Datsun and Carrol Shelby. Picked up some Nissan Motorsports parts from me.
That one is lovely. Would be surprised if it went beyond $20K - '73 models aren't as desirable with respect to the 240Z (although certainly more desirable than the 260Z / 280Z models).
I know some of the stories - they are very interesting. Long story short, Pete Brock had an agreement with Toyota to race the 2000GT, but Carroll Shelby swooped in late and Toyota decided to go with Shelby instead. Brock decided to approach Datsun / Nissan, the rest is history.
