What are you thinking, is there still a car existing with factory miles or lets say 200-400 km/mls?
If you are looking for an appraisal of a 300km F40, simply post all the details of the car complete with pics to augment the thread you've started and lets discuss. My sale was not long ago and was a Private Treaty sale, I'm not at liberty to post it online.
There was a F40 kept in the living room next to the piano. As I recall that particular F40 has since been liberated. Wonder if someone actually drove the car or just found a new spot to park it?
That's just...wow. I'm not going to the guy that says, "The owner should enjoy it more!" but the temptation to drive it would be too much for me.
I took this video of one at the 2012 Celebration Exotic Car Festival. I don't pry into the car's details but someone in passing told me this car had less than 200 miles at the time and the owner had a second one with higher milage. It won best in show that year. Perhaps someone familiar with the car can provide better details. [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=62iqowb5Kxw[/ame]
It think all the cars were test-driven and ended up being delivered with some mileage, @ 50 if I recall correctly.
Correct - although I'm not sure on the mileage aspect If the car failed to pass the test drive, it went back to the factory and was fixed and then it went back out again. Hence why some had double the factory mileage of others.
A friend was there back in the day, and he said some unlucky owner had his delivered with way more than any others because they could fix a rattle in the door on the PDI. On bright side, at least it didn't rattle.
So many mega collections are kept in 100% privacy. The sultan comes to mind, with the production numbers of the f40 I would think people would be surprised how many 0-50 mile cars are on our planet.
