Seriously? It is clear ferraripete was thanking Fiorano57 for pointing out this car was purchased by diSCUDsted from CNC. 30 days off for trolling since I've warned you before. Next time it's permanent. ferraripete--we were posting at the same time. Sorry he trolled you, he's been warned and next time he does it he'll be gone.
duane, I was going to write to you that I was sorry for inciting a riot. happy new year to you. best, Peter
No worries Peter. I suspect proof69 is a previously banned user back with to cause trouble. Happy New Year!
Thanks Kevin. Thank you. And you are correct, it will just take that "right" buyer (as I was) to appreciate the beautiful, rare color and perfect spec (i.m.o.) that someone can appreciate. Again, if that doesn't happen any time soon, I'll be happy to keep and drive one of the most gorgeous 458's (t)rolling the streets! Thank you. Me too !! Thank you so much Sir. It really is a shame that members have to chime in with negative, uneducated, and inexperienced advice at all. My current "asking" is nowhere off the norm from any other comparable car out there in regards to mileage, service history, all documents, no stories, meticulously maintained by a very picky owner with a higher than your average MSRP. The car not only turns heads everywhere I go, but even at every Ferrari event I've attended where you have Ferrari owners that have been buying Ferraris for 30+ years.
INSANELY beautiful. Wish I had some change laying around. Never thought I'd like yellow on a Ferrari this much. And I'm sure pictures don't even nearly do it justice. Definitely worth every single penny of the seller's asking price, if not more.
Seriously...This Proof69 is still coming to these classified ads and causing trouble? You mods need to get your heads together on this guy and take care of him. I keep having to erase what I type for fear of getting banned myself.
Cam is in Cali. I'm in Chicago. Didn't really want to ship the car cross country just to consign. But it is currently available through a local exotic dealer, or can be handled through myself as well. Thank you. I'm assuming we've met at a past event perhaps. I just can't put your username and face together. lol Thank you. And you are correct. The color in person is incredible by comparison to the pics.
Post #160. Says it all really... Like Cinderella and the sisters (no disrespect to the owners of the sisters !!). Seriously, this colour has to be seen to be believed. Wish the photo was bigger...would be my new screensaver.
Thanks Andrew. I posted all these pics from my phone (probably not the best idea). But they actually look way better on my phone for some reason. As you mentioned, the color really is unbelievable in person. If anything changes sooner on your end, let me know. Although I do have one gentlemen that seems ready to go sooner than later, and actually got another pm just this morning from another interested party. Regards
Guys..... drop to $230k! I've had 3 parties interested this week. Show me another car any where near comparable ($320k msrp) to this one in terms of options, miles, condition, maintenance, history, etc... et. Oh yeah..... they don't exist.
3 parties and NO takers???? Cmon you cheap F-Chat members look in your chairs and couches for that small change needed to buy this car!!!!,lol Tommy no one wants my car either....Lets do the 2 for 1!!!!!
One offer Kevin. The other guy hasn't responded back yet. I truly do not get it. I know most claim that you don't get much back on a heavily optioned car, but..... my car is $40-50k higher than most 458 coupes out there. Guys are wanting to pay me the same for a car optioned $40-50k less. When I was shopping for a car, that $40-50k in more options was worth at least half that premium to me personally. But yeah.... people are pretty much either being cheap, or just don't see a more than fair deal if it slapped em in the face. I've had two offers in the past of the $230k I'm asking now, and respectfully declined. I'd consider the trade, but have a 15 GT3 coming end of March. If mine doesn't go before it arrives I'll just keep it. But I know come Spring fever, this car will go quick.
I wish I could take it off your hands and I would if my 2 cars sold. Why dont you look for a scud again and cash. I think the GT3 is nice but I think you will miss the Ferrari. Good luck in whatever happens.
The dilemma of the well optioned car. If someone really wants those options badly they will pay extra for them, everyone else will dismiss them and compare to cars without the option because they are not important to them. Your car has a few of those options, a 20k option at that, the triple paint. Unless you find a buyer who is looking specifically for a triple paint car, most buyers won't even consider it in the value of the car. Options are pennies on the dollar, literally, the are almost meaningless in resale. I will use Porsches as an easy example, you can option out a base Cayman S (70,000) to well in to the 100k price range, on resale you will not even get a 15% premium for the 50% premium you paid over the base price. Ferrari's are no different. Looking at the market for 458's today Autotrader has 292 used 458's for sale! That is a crazy large number! Asking prices range from 165,000 all the way up to 370,000! Of those 292, 63 are 2011, and they range from 196,000 to 240,000. At 230,000 you are in the upper end of the price range (probably deservedly so), but those cars tend to see slower sales with so many cars with a few more miles at more than a 10% discount. It is a tough market for 458's, if you are not in a hurry to sell it and want premium you may want to risk taking it off the market and waiting 3 months. With so much available inventory I am not so sure that risk will be as big of a pay off as in the past or even having cash in hand. The way the stock market has been behaving recently I am not sure luxury cars will be doing too well in the spring either. Good Luck with the sale.
Agree and disagree to an extent. Although I respect your opinion; even though your offer via PM was an absolute insult. Which b.t.w. is why I never responded. ;-) The good news is I had an out of town offer just over an hour ago I'm willing to accept. Just need to wait till Monday as potential buyer wants to lease the car and needs to find some things out. And another gentleman came into the dealer where my car is currently at and spent quite some time looking it over. No financing needed. Just wanted to take a night to think about it. First off, Autotrader is a mess. I'd bet nearly half those cars listed are either very old ads, or cars that have been sold months ago. Agree that you don't get much back on resale with options. But many of those options make or break a potential buyer from buying a car. I'm not really missing any option at all. Let alone one that would break a deal (other than someone not liking Yellow). As far as Spring coming around... It's a known and repeated cycle. Sports cars in general sell way more once Spring fever sets in. Always has, always will. It's the nature of the business. The car is a one of a kind. Anyone that doesn't see that and thinks it should be priced any lower is sadly mistaken, or just looking for your "everyday" 458 to be "seen" in.
It's worth what it's worth. If it sits for a year it's likely priced too high. Obviously we all want top dollar as sellers, so I hope it works out to your liking.
That car is NOT at top dollar. Its NOT priced to high and its worth what its worth is a vague and demeaning statement about this car IMO. There are lots of 458s out there but if you are really looking to buy one you will see Dis's car is special. If you just HAVE to have red its not for you. Yes we all want top dollar when we sell our Ferrari's but remember unless we bought new the previous owner wanted the same thing, lol. I think most sellers want to sell but not get raped selling their car because we are also thinking about what we paid for our car that we are selling.
