I have been getting the CEL code P1169 that relates to Ambient Pressure Adaptation - Altitude Factor too High (Max). This keeps coming back after clearing it.
The F-Chat site search turned up one thread on this with a reply that said it is a MAP sensor issue. I searched MAP and also on Ricambi's parts catalog with nothing.

Does anyone know if this is indeed a physical sensor that can be replaced? If so, where is it located? Part number?

Any clarification would be most appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    This is a great Forum!!!!!

There is no individual pressure sensor as I understand it. The MAF acts by determining airflow in the air intake. Perhaps the external resistor on the MAF has too much corrosion on it or the resistance has become too great on baseline? The external resistor on the MAF would correct for temperature variation on the MAF IIRC..

Interesting... I recently replaced both MAF units with 'equivalent' Bosch Honda units. Same Bosch part number as used on Alfa's, Land Rover, and others. I don't think they would use different resistors as they would be measuring the same ambient pressure.

Thanks for your input on this vrsurgeon!!!!

I am not sure where to go from here with this... My car does seem to run fine. I just don't like having the CEL on. I could try swapping the MAFs or try the old units for a while and take notes.

Be careful, a lot of them are fakes, not even genuine Bosch, they may indeed be not working properly. I would swap them back and see if the fault goes away, if it does, ask for a refund!

I swapped the MAF sensors from left to right, cleared the P1169 code and went for a drive. Did about 50 miles so far and no code. Hope to do another drive in a day or so to get about 100 miles logged. I will post results as they come available.
I will check out MAF sensors at the local Honda dealership for price and who manufactures them.

    Did swapping them work?

When you replaced your MAFs did you purchase them out of Germany for about $180 each? Was there any other symptoms when you threw the code (misfires)?

I had a code from my OBD2 reader (Actron OBD2 reader) that was not even a code used by Ferrari (at least the code did not exist on the list of codes). The OBD2 reader is pretty accurate except for that one time it threw the strange code.

I entered your code and saw only one post back in 2009 and the guy was guessing about Manifold Pressure Sensor. My guess is that it is not a correct code as somebody in the forum would have gotten the same code in the past.

When you replaced your MAFs did you use the power shut off switch to force the ECU to do a relearn? Also, is your battery up to full charge? And lastly, check your gas cap.
