Hamilton, Schumacher alonso all bloody good. Kimi has had flashes of brilliance In his career but I think he may be past his prime. Jenson and rosberg have flew under the radar. Stellar first season for jenson and then he ️sort of reappeared again to capture a wdc and Now is only just getting the credit he deserves for his consistency over the last 5 years. Rosberg? The first half of his career his talent was hidden in a **** car. One of the best qualifiers in recent times but a fair few steps below hamilton in race pace but still above an out of form Schumacher. Probably in most people's top 6-7 of the current grid in terms of skill. Still a cheating a$$ tho...
Arguing keeps me amused but one minute you say he's great but that more comes across as you trying to appease hamilton fans. When a few posts later you tell us he's barely quicker than a pensioner its hard to know what you really think... It's like arguing with a schizophrenic
GodSpeed33, Name-calling and personal attacks are not permitted. I'm applying a 2-week ban for caustic behaviour. Please be more amicable upon your return. All the best, Andrew.
I have a simple question. If Hamilton is so great and the best driver ever, why does he only have 2 WDC after 8 years?
I give him one more. He'll be a triple champion, but I don't think any further than that. There's a lot of new talent coming up and he's getting older. He was fortunate to have the best car last year and possibly this year coming up again.
It makes no odds if he attains more WDC's than MS, the cranks will come up with some mind numbing reason why he lucked into them or his teammate rode shotgun for him ad nauseam ...sounds familiar Eh!
I have been reading things like this since 2007 maybe am the dickhead staying on here. Is it any wonder newbie Ham fans get banned. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/f1/196799-lewis-hamilton-im-not-superman.html#post137690044
IMO Statistics in F1 cannot accurately or even come close to evaluating the talent of drivers past and present
Maybe I'm the idiot, but what are you trying to reference? It's been 6 years since that and he has 2. There's always naysayers, and like I've said he's good, but its other people that make him intolerable. Same with vettel the last few, everyone touting he's the best, blah blah and polluting every forum and article out there only to disappear this year. It's annoying that everything turns into a Hamilton is god thread.
I don't consider Ham any form of god at all, in fact quite the contrary, that is a phrase used by anti-Hamilton fans for reasons unknown to me, basically I see it for what it is, always have done. I accept it is a Ferrari chat site so essentially one can accept a certain amount of realistic flak for singing the praises of the enemy, but it is the F1 section and IMO competition driver wise should be respected, admired or disliked on fact's other what they wear or to an extent what they say. Regards to 4 of those 6 years we all know the RB/ multi 1-2 domination was a major factor, by hook or by crook Newey built a better mouse trap, of course not forgetting a Brawn DD grey area loop hole, Hamilton along with Merc has wrestled that grip back, and to me that has been a joy to watch.
... preferential treatment over Fernando Alonso and Heikki Kovalainen, McLaren proved a happy, carefree place for Lewis Hamilton. Enter fellow Englishman Jenson Button, reduced to equal status, suddenly McLaren was not so warm, cozy or nurturing a place for him. Was it? Last two years at McLaren Hamilton spent, throwing crew and team staff under the bus, banging up Ron Dennis's cars stumbling over Schumacher, Felipe and Pastor, becoming unhinged, edging to the limit of his indignation over trivialities, making silly excuses playing the race card. Didn't he? Promise of a cathartic, emotionally supportive, nurturing hearth, an ever vigilant Niki Lauda to hold sway over him, for which to jump start his stunted maturation, tap his untapped potential, did baby-Lewis find his way, to Daimler-Mercedes. Didn't he? It took a lot of doing, didn't it? A 24-7/365 behavior micromanagement program specifically tailored to Hamilton, by Wolff and Lauda. And, for all their effort only just by the skin of their teeth did they take McLaren's problem child, and nurse him to the 2014 title. With less than half Hamilton's GP win tally did Rosberg nearly swipe Hamilton's title. To avert likelihood of an asterisked double points champion, did they rig Rosberg's car at Abu Dhabi, and allow Hamilton an economy run to decide the 2014 season. Were it a polished, utterly ruthless, razor sharp aged 30 Michael Schumacher, in Daimler-Mercedes' WO5, the 2014 title would have been wrapped up, by Belgium -- asj.
That's why you're not on ignore, you speak your mind without being stupid. I'm not a Hamilton detractor, i think hes very talented. I just hate the super fans that included other sports. In NY whenever the Yankees are winning, every nut job comes out and makes it intolerable. I went from a Yankee fan to a detractor just becaus of other people. When the Yankees lose, they disappear back to their holes, just like this new batch of hamilfans will when the stars misalign and he goes back to 4-5th...just like the vettel fans that went silent. I'm actually a huge McLaren fan over ferrari (hang me!)and I always get flack for this, but I'm not a Schumacher fan either and I think his timing was everything. He went unchallenged for many years. Back on topic, when you get these nut jobs that start insulting the pioneers of the sport, its frustrating. You asked for examples of people who beat solid teammates, I gave them, and people still write dumbass comments. It is what it is. I'm guilty of egging them on myself just to get a reaction ;-)
Nico = Hamilton. The points and the lap times don't lie. Hamilton won more races, Nico got more pole positions. WDC was decided in the very last race. Sounds pretty even to me, and that last race could have gone either way. Is that hating Hamilton or is it praising Nico? All it says is that they're both massive talents, but I'm sure toil, krafty etc will find fault.
People don't get banned for being Hamilton fans, they get banned for being caustic. When someone charges in only a few weeks into their membership with toxicity, a stern approach sets the required tone and hopefully that's the only ban they ever get. All the best, Andrew.
Lewis Hamilton is as good with a Mercedes PU behind him as Sebastian Vettel was with 4 years of the V8 RBR Renault PU. The kid with the fastest go-kart wins, but that isn't what makes him great.
