    @ Canepa.

    The poster says:

"This car was originally ordered by dual F1 champ Keke Rosberg. At the time it was the fastest production car in the world. The order was placed in January of 1985 with optional air conditioning and electric windows, and due for delivery by May or June. Rosberg never drove it though. Instead he made a secret deal with an upscale dealer in Scottsdale AZ making a handy profit, under the stipulation that the Ferrari factory never know about the transaction. The single private owner maintained it very well and it shows only 8,622 kilometers since new."

There was a bottom for GTOs in 2009/10? What is the source of your information?

wasn't 2009/10 the most recent bottom? I had a buddy who bought 2 of them in 09 for about 700 each - so my question is was 700 the low for mint cars...or did they get lower when f40s were in the low 400s?

So, essentially, you've answered your own question, or was it simply a rhetorical one?

In 2005 when I was looking to buy a 288GTO, the price range at that time was in the 275,000. to 375,000. range ...real money... As I know of someone who did buy one with in that range.. and as I recall F40's where less ..I hope this may help...

u sure about the year? I remember f40s being 200k more than what I spent on my 430 spider back in 06 - and I think my sticker was 240k

In 2006 prices of 288's and F40s were on the rise over the 2005 prices.. so, yes, an F40 could have conceivable been in the 400K range...

    That's correct.

I bought my 288 GTO in that time-frame and prices of GTOs have steadily increased year-by-year without a break since, unaffected by the so-called recession of 2008/9/10. That said, I look for them to settle where they are now, or in fact regress a little in this cooling market.

On a slightly different topic, does anyone have a high resolution pic (or know who owns the copyright) of the 4 288's on the back of the transporter in the snow (I think in NYC). Purely for personal use - I just really like the photo.

Looks great! That's a car to pay top dollar for. I just checked the crystal ball and it will first be worth $5m on 4th September 2019. :)
