I work for FCA. The last application of the Busso V6 was in 2007 in the Alfa Romeo GT (which was based on the 147. The development cost to meet Euro5 emission levels was cost prohibitive. What an awesome engine though...
Wow - I never noticed that car was a Ferrari. I used to watch the show during 1st run in the late 1970s(into the 80s?), but that was way before I got into Ferraris. Interesting what little tidbits one can pickup on Fchat...
The '84 at FoSD is in the showroom. It is a consignment car. Not sure why they removed it from the site, but it is for sale at $99,999. I saw it yesterday afternoon.
Well, heck. Makes the $82k offer i got a few weeks ago for my red/tan 328 GTB seem a bit light. If i sell my car, I'm waiting a bit for prices to settle, maybe this spring, maybe a long time from now. Something tells me these cars are on an upward trend, especially 328 GTBs, since only about 130 or so are in the USA. Could be really interesting in a few years! Greg
I watched with awe the Ferrari run up in 1989. It's part of the Ferrari mystique that's dear to me. IMHO Joe
I would say the 360 CS is that car. Then the 430 for sure. The 360 CS is a unique and relatively limited production car. About the same number of them made as the F40.
All nice cars, but IMHO the 360 CS (old paddle shift gearbox) was surpassed by the F430 Scuderia, and then the 458 was a huge step up in style and performance. I never lusted after it. The 308, definitely, and the 458... I might be talked into one someday.
45k$ was the price 2 years ago. In Europe it seems that beautiful carb and QV 308 are already above 100k$. Even condition 2 GT4 have asking prices of 95k$. 18months ago it was less than half...
EUR , not USD , Yves. And truely very good carb models are today at 130-150 k EUR , same condition GT4 150k EUR and above. For condition 2 Cars you are right with approx 100k EUR And .... No, it's no bubble ! Because people don't know, where to spend their money on and Classic Sportscars are rare. That's it. FORECAST: End of 2015: 308 carb (same costs for GTB/GTS/GT4) 150k plus for cond 3 , 200k plus for cond 2 and 250k plus for cond 1 Mid 2016: 308 carb plus another 50k for each condition. At the end of 2016 there will be cars offered for 300K EUR ! That's my gut feeling.
I live far away, so I can't keep pace For the 2nd part of your post, it is exactly what worries me: that prices are driven by investors. When they change their minds, we will see what happens... All the guys I know in the market are there to make a profit, they do not really care about the car itself... It is bound to create issues. Whereas it will be before or after the prices reach 300k€ it is another question
I live in Europe but i wonder where you see these prices! A steel carbed car for 100+ please tell me where to sent mine the only exception might be the UK but that's an island, with all the stange things happening on an Island
If it's cond 2+ or better: to me ! You only have to look at autoscout24 or mobile or any other site Problem is: There are no cars on the offer in cond 2 or better. 99% of the recent offers are rubbish ... for 69k or more
The Ferrari dealer in Belgium has yet another really nice 308 for sale. Is the carburetor starting to close the gap to the Vetroresina, or does this push the Vetroresina even higher? Will be interesting to see... Fahrzeugangebot: Ferrari 308 GTS - Low Mileage für 160000 EUR http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=204311726
..steel version i mean, as both are of course carburetors. I have a feeling somebody would comment on that ;-)
Indeed there is, send your car here and it will make $100k easily if right and orginal All the magazines over here are writing articles about investors looking for good clean car investments and driving prices sky high, we have just had a Jag XK120 at Silverstone make $370K which was $100k over estimate
... as I told you .... Plastic where only GTB , the GTS ever have been steel. Plastic only was until End of 1977. I've postet a picture of a 01/78 steel GTB. This particular car is nice but only cond 2 or 2- and therefor a litle bit too high priced ... today ! But in 6 weeks the pricing fits.
Sounds about RIGHT !!!!! However, forgetting the "small" differences in models...... Euro 308 GTB fiberglass drysump Euro 308 GTB steel drysump (until April '79) These 2 models WILL see 300t euros by end of this year. These 2 models will soar above the rest before the rest catch up. These are the 2 models COLLECTORS ans enthusiasts are looking for and have been buying for the last 2-3 years. This has brought the average 308 (all models) up.
