    Hi everybody,

Of course this has been discussed over and over and I'm not looking for "the _____ is the ultimate exhaust for a 355" - rather hoping for some fchatters close by that have one of those on their F355 or have experience with more than one of the mentioned exhausts.

We finally got ourselves a nice '98 F355 GTS and loving it. The only fly in the ointment - and this almost too hard to write - is that our old 348ts with a Nouvalari Supersport sounded better in the low rev register and we miss all its popping and crackling when getting off the gas. Note the F355 has a Fuchs exhaust and is otherwise stock.

I like the two chamber design of the Capristo and the Tubi Evolution. If the Nouvalari features the same two chamber design I'd probably just go with that as I was so thrilled with the one on the 348. Otherwise it'll be one of the Tubi or Capristo.

Anybody close to Los Gatos have one of those that I might hear? Anybody have experience with Moore than one of them? Comments please!

    Jay.

I have a '97 with test pipes and a Nouvalari Super Sport exhaust. It sounds phenomenal. If you are ever in Colorado, we can get together and you can hear it in person.

I have a tubi on my Berlinetta. My brother's GTS has a stock exhaust.

My plan is to buy a Capristo - what I consider the ultimate ferrari sound on an F355 and hand him down the tubi.

They are both fantastic but do sound different.

Having had one, capristo. Level 2 for a gtb, level 3 for a spider and pick which depending on how often to plan to have your top on in a gts.

when I bought my car it was all stock.
within a week I found a used Nouvalari SS here on fchat.
got it on and what a difference. even with stock cats on.

sounds great at idle, low rpms and opens up really nice at full throttle.
with all the rumbles and pops in between.
I bought used so got great price , but even new the Nouvalari SS can't be beat at that price point.

you can buy almost 3 nouvalaris for price of one Capristo lol.

    Hi Jay,

I have a Cap 3 on my 95 Berlinetta, live in SF. Also have Hyperflow cats which make a HUGE difference compared to stock. My car is down with a bad TO bearing, supposed to get fixed this week.

Send me a PM mid-week and we'll see if I can give you a demo.

Well, I can say I am a huge fan of my Nouvalari headers and sport exhaust (as opposed to Super Sport Exhaust) which is a bit louder at idle and under acceleration. my catalytic converters are stock. Check out the short video.

To be quite honest, I am a fan of all of the different exhaust manufacturers and give a huge thumbs up to Nouvalari, Tubi, Capristo and the boys! if you have a 355 with any of these exhaust systems, you have what is arguably considered by me to be the best sounding car ever made in the history of mankind!

I've heard cuneo's car and it's amazing. I wouldn't mind seeing a couple F355s together if you guys do plan to meet up. :)

I can bring my 993 C4S with Fister stage 3's for fun.

My buddy has a Tubi on his GTB and lives in the south bay.

My 355 2.7 is a European example and it looks to have some type of custom exhaust on it. I will pull the heat shield and check it out in more detail when I have time.

If you don't care about cost, Capristo 3 without a doubt.

If you want the best for your dollar, Nouvalari (amazing sound, 1/3 the price)

I would eliminate the Tubi as a contender immediately, it's expensive and sound is no match for the other 2.

Has anyone tried the Fabspeed exhaust? Looks intriguing....but still pricey.

I have a Tubi Evolution on mine (the one that is said to basically emulate the 2-chamber Capristo 3 design). It has a very high-quality sound in the high RPM range and drones a little just off idle. It gives off plenty of mild burbles and pops on the overrun, but nothing frighteningly loud.

At idle, it provides plenty of buzz. Fabspeed sport cats provide a fuller, deeper sound at idle compared to original cats, but I could not tell the difference at higher RPMs. The effect is probably similar for Hyper-flows or any other straight-through cat.

I've never heard a Capristo 3 in person, but from videos it seems significantly louder and more raw (throatier) at the top end. In comparison, my Tubi sounds more musical, like a trumpet. A very very loud trumpet. I've run through tunnels, and it seems like any louder and it might hurt my ears!

I'd imagine the Nouvalari SS would be a great value. Heard nothing but good things about it so far. I'm local to the OP, but my car is at the shop for the near future.

Not sure what to think of the Fabspeed X-pipe muffler design. It doesn't have the chambered design, but that does provide a weight advantage. I haven't heard of anyone on F-chat with this.

Just fyi, the capristo 2 is the louder exhaust when bypass is closed, both are the same when bypass is opened. Go 2 with a gtb and 3 with a spider imo.

    I concur.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but whoever chooses anything over the Cap 2 is WRONG. :D

Isn't that an integral part of Ferrari ownership?
