Fabspeed headers/Fabspeed Cats and a TUBI or CAPRISTO -2 either way ya WIN!! You will never want to turn on your radio again LOL !!
You can always sell the exhaust for 75% of brand new price if you decide you dont like it or need it. The money is still there, not gone. It's just installed on your car .
Afaik,I'm the only one that actually took a capristo off of their car (traded it for a set of challenge wheels). They almost never show up for sale used. I should have just bought the wheels and kept the exhaust.
Exactly. And that was what?... 5 years ago? People who have a Capristo, dont sell. If that isn't a good enough track record to prove how great the exhaust sounds compared to others, i dont know what is. At least you traded it for something discontinued.
We're talking about an exhaust for a Ferrari that makes a 458 Speciale sound like a minivan here. Money can be made. Fullfilment is challenging .
True, but the capristo is more suited to the street . Capristo for street use and open challenge exhaust for track is the best combo imo. If not for the sound, then the weight savings - challenge exhaust weighs around 9lbs vs 25lbs for the capristo and almost 50lbs for the stock exhaust.
Fabspeed headers Nouvalari cats and exhaust, both installed by the PO. Can't really hear the radio. Be sure to find a tunnel for a 6000 rpm plus run ... He he he
Capristo is 32 lbs btw . Thats probably one of the only gripes I have with it. It's about time Capristo start making Titanium exhausts.
what is the difference between the capristo for the 355 with the little holes on the side plugs and the covered side plugs
also how do you know if it is a level 1/3 if it is not marked on the muffler. it says: 1 2 3 ts only for competition but none of them are marked
Mine had a plaque on it that gave the level (hard to read in the attached pic,but you can see where it is). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Money no object? Has to be Capristo. But on the sound v cost graph, Nouvalari all the way. Especially with Hyperflow cats helping. Genuine old school Formula 1 sound. But it can be a bit much. If you'd like to be able to cruise around quietly in the neighbourhood, that's not going to happen.
Man you guys have my wheels spinning....My new to me 355 spider will be here in <1 hour (was transported from CA) and I'm sitting here reading all this stuff on the exhaust The car will sit until the salt is off the ground here in NJ, but I have to think about this- the car has stock exhaust- I need to see how I like it vs. the upgrade costs.... I'm coming from a 360 coupe with tubi and hyperflow cats that I sold last fall- the 360s definitely needs an exhaust upgrade from stock as it was stock is way too quiet, but I figured I'd see how the 355 is which had a better stock exhaust sound than a stock 360, and this car is a convertible vs coupe. All the descriptions of snap crackle and pops these aftermarket exhausts let out brings back memoires of my 360. Thanks for spending even more of my money guys I wonder how much a Nouvalari set up would be? The other's may be too pricy for my toy car budget for now...I guess I should actually drive the car first to be sure there is nothing else needed first- ha!
Hi Andrew give me a PM with your phone number I also live in Northern New Jersey and I have a beautiful 355 GTS that's set up beautifully with Fab speed Headers and Tubi exhaust and I'll be happy to share the perfect set up with you look forward to chatting Mike
Appalling picture quality but ignore that. Turn the sound up way loud. This was only going to 6000rpm on up shifts. The pops and crackles on the way down are amazing. It is genuinely LOUD. You will need understanding neighbours. Nouvalari exhaust, Hyperflow cats, otherwise standard. http://youtu.be/-85n3wMNbR0
Thanks Mike-I'd love to hear your car! We may have met at the local cars & Croissants (or we will meet!!) Is the stock 355 exhaust "valved"- i.e. is there a valve that opens up at higher RPM/higher throttle? Would something like a Nouvalari have this sort of set up too? Just doing a very quick ebay check shows the Nouvalari at $1,985 including shipping... Thanks! Still sitting here on f-chat waiting for the flatbed to show up with my car
I think I see where the valve is on the exhaust pipes before the actual muffler- is the bypass valve there on the stock car? Do you leave it as is and connect the new muffler to it? I may simply start keeping my eyes opened for used exhaust systems and see what comes up in the coming months...I saw a used tubi muffler sold for $1,500 so maybe going used is a good option if I can find a nice condition tubi/capristo etc... I'm definitely going to refer to this thread in the future!
Tubi evo exhaust the rest standard. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10202442691366747&set=vb.1177911907&type=3&theater i now have cat by pass fitted which has made it louder at the low end (before by pass valve opens) kelly
Is it marked on the plaque what level it is? What is the difference between the side plugs with holes and the side plugs without holes?
