Last March I managed to round up a group of 19 people to attend an indoor kart racing event at K1 Speed in Buffalo Grove, IL. It was a blast with some very competitive racing. Here's a little thread about it: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/north-midwest-usa-nd-sd-mn-ia-wi-il/433887-anyone-up-some-indoor-kart-racing.html

Looking to set it up again this year. Again on a Saturday. Here are possible dates, let me know as soon as possible if you would like to attend and which days work for you. I need to make reservations a few weeks before the event.

We will do the "Grand Prix" package, K1 Speed | Adult Parties, same as last year. $60 per person.

    March 7
    March 14
    March 21
    March 28

I'm pretty sure my son and I would like to attend.
The later in March the better for me.

It's looking like the date will be March 28th, so far that seems to be when most people can go.

We just did this with our F car group on Long Island and it was an absolute blast.

We definitely had a blast last year. I'm looking forward to going again.

Jeff, did you hear an indoor track is being opened much closer to home???

Yup. I hope it's a big success, but I'm skeptical.

I had read that there was some other family entertainment type thing next door, a trampoline park maybe?

I believe this is the same group that attempted to start an indoor kart facility by The Ridge in New Berlin, essentially I43 and Moorland for those who don't know, that never received approval. I wish them lots of success and will certainly be a customer, but yes, I've always wondered how many racers you needed to at least break even at one of these places.

I looked into it years ago. I want to say the upfront money was something like $1.5million. I certainly wish them tons of success. That just seems like a ton of money to recoup in WI.

Agree, maybe if it was in the Kenosha area to pull from both SE Wisconsin and Northern IL it might work. Don't want to dampen their party though, I'll definitely be a customer.

I set up a plan to do one as well, actually I still have it and my format is quite a bit more involved than the one that's opening up-- more money generating facets. :)

I am out in Chicago for work for the next 6 months living down town. I went there a few weeks ago with some car guys I know. I would be interested in going if I can find a ride out there.

I will soon send an e-mail with all the specifics.

The date is March 28th, racing starts at 11:00 am - meaning everyone needs to be signed in and ready to go at 11:00 am. K1 opens at 10:00 am, I would get there no later than 10:30 am.
