I am keeping my 458 with the f12. Any owners who've had both and can say which one they prefer?

Me too. I've got a 2013 458 that I just can't give up. I'm planning on getting a lift to accommodate the f12 when it arrives (that's why I put in 13 ft ceilings in my garage when I built my house!!

So which car are you going to put on the bottom?

    That's the acid test! :)

(I just don't trust those things)

Is it good or bad to be on the bottom?

i just switched from a 458 to f12...I loved the 458..was the perfect/balanced car..one of the best f cars ever...F12 is sublime....a different, more grown up proposition all around...better build quality inside, more refined/composed...as exciting if not more...

One note...458 was much easier to drive and enjoy around town than the f12...f12 is so ridiculously powerful and more twitchy than 458, that you really are concious permanently that you may get the rear end lively...this limit was more forgiving in 458...

I am totally happy with the switch, but i wish i could have afforded to keep the 458 as well...they are different cars.

Having had the 458, 458 spider, F12. They are all amazing cars but the one that was the most fun was the 458 spider for me.

For me the novelty factor of the 458 wore off very quickly and after driving V12's it just felt slow. I still intend to keep mine because I like how well it is specced, although I wonder about the build quality for the $$. Curious how long it will last before falling apart.

Roger that. Driving into NYC this morning in the F12 in 20F (-7C) I definitely wasn't trying anything fancy!

and even on a day like today, a clear day with no water or ice on the ground... In the colder weather, do you do a "Patriots" on your tire pressures? :)

haha, yes letting some air out would probably be wise, but I just leave them at the recommended pressures, 30/31 psi and in those temps the pressures stay static as the tires only warm up enough to counterbalance the effects of the cold.

and to answer the thread, I don't know how many 458 owners bought F12s. I have never owned a 458 but have driven one a few times and they really seemed like totally different cars. Both great, but completely different in feel, purpose, design etc. If I had to drive one every day (I do), I would choose the F12 (I did). That's not to take anything away from the 458 which is great too.

You don't have snows on it roma??
If I drive my 458 in anything colder than 50 degrees the car is all over the place!

Yes I have snow tires on the car. It actually handles really well as long as you drive sensibly. Try getting cute though and in the words of Jeremy Clarkson, it can get "botty clenching" pretty quickly
