Better picture of the interior colour.
I have had 2 sets of central seat panels made, Daytona and the original plain blue ..... i didnt realise thats its a relatively straight forward process to change these over.

It isn't straightforward if they have been correctly fitted as they were by the factory. I had two sets of covers made for my Verde Germoglio car thinking I could swap them over as the mood took me - one cloth, one leather. However this isn't possible as the foam underneath the centre section should be glued to the webbing straps beneath it plus held in place with a variety of upholstery clips etc. The top section of the inserts is particularly tricky to remove due to the method of fixing. It is a fairly big job to swap them over as a result.

Hi Iain, yes this was explained to me , but the coach trimmer that did the work on my seats modified the internal construction very slightly , in order to make this work a little easier..... however, not exactly a velcro in and out job , i totally agree!

I wasn't entirely happy with the condition of the wheels, so had them restored by a specialist....Just got them back , they came out quite well, think. Jez

What a beautiful car. The colour is amazing, and really suits the Dino shape. Thanks for sharing the almost epic history and your renovation of her. My guess is she'll be seeing you well into old age...! Good health and enjoy her when you can. ps. impressing a 16yr old. That IS the litmus test of 'cool'....! :)

Thanks for your kind comments, yes it has been a really enjoyable couple of years with the car, and great fun unearthing the history on it with the assistance of the Classiche dept, the Ferrari Center in Maidstone as well as the generous contributions of the members of this forum.
I've enjoyed it so much that im now in the process of restoring the 308 GTB ive just bought .... also now going back to its original Azzurro Metalizzatto and dark blue interior..... should look interesting side by side!

    BR,
    Jez

Could I kindly ask what year 308 you've purchased? Also in the market for one, just now sure which year/model to buy. It's like the 'woods for the trees'. I've been surrounded by them for decades, only to suddenly wake up and realise they've been there all the time, and really are quite desirable. Frustrating really. I think your pair of cars will look awesome when they are completed. If I were you I would make sure I wasn't walking down a tall staircase with your son behind you. :)

    Hi,
Yes i was the same, and a little ashamed and embarassed to say that i even considered them lesser cars, without even driving one, in the past.
I now have 2 'bookend' 308's one is a 1977 GTB RHD steel carb, the other is the very last carb car registered (allegedly) a 308 GTB from 1981.

Obviously you will get much more opinion and advice on the 308 forum, but from my personal point of view, i wanted an 'upgraded' Dino 246 experience ..... and thats what the early carb 308's give ...... basically an 'everyday' Dino.

You are right about my Son ...... he's 17 now and already got his eye on the '77 308!!!

Seriously if i can offer any further assistance regarding 308 World, just drop me a line, whilst far away from an expert, i'd be glad to help where i can , from an ownership perspective .... lots to choose from, as you say and they are fantastic driving cars, as well as a joy to look at!
    BR,
    Jez

    Hi All,
Just a short note to say that my beautiful 246 GTS #07770 has now been sold and has been taken away to its new owner, who will be driving her a lot more than I have been able to!

I have to say it's a strange feeling not to be part of this exclusive club any longer, but it's been a pleasure to be part of this forum for the past 3 years or so.
I would like to thank you all for your kind words and assistance, you are a great bunch!

It's not all sadness however as I have just taken delivery of a lovely 1977 308 Vetroresina, and I am no starting a similar process i undertook with my Dino..... So more exciting times ahead.

    All the best,
    Jez
