Yes, I checked my notes and you are correct, it seems there are several variants.

I don't think it would be right (or legal) to post the article here, but it's a complimentary 2 page article with some nice pictures.

"At $2.4m, Bonhams hit the ball out of the park with this 288 GTO ... however compared with the 275 GTB/4, the 288 still has some catching up to do ... a complete supercar collection is the goal of many collectors, and the 288 is the rarest card in the pack ..."

and to finish, "up next RM is offering this 6,500 mile 1984 288 GTO at Scottsdale, with a pre sale estimate of $1.9m to $2.4m..."

We all know how that ended - $2.75m including commission.

Gotta love SoCal, probably one of the few places on earth where the owner of one 288GTO might randomly see another out and about. :)

Maybe I get what he meant. I'm from SoCal and saw a GTO in Florida. Am I missing something here??? Maybe I took it wrong.

The price tag :) j/k (not sure if you were serious - if you were, the side mirrors are an easy way to tell)

What a stunner. I don't mean to sully the thread again with talks of value (and yes I know I'm talking my book here) but I think this is going to look like a very cheap buy in 2 years time.

usd2.75mn on the road 'very cheap'. I truly hope not, and normally would doubt the sustained continuance of the current (irrational?) climb...

However, with another €1100 billion from thin air to be absorbed by financials and peripheral over the next 17 months, you could be right..

Thankfully bread, milk and many other essentials for the good of the world aren't caught in the updraught.
