A few races ago, he said something was in his left eye, but when he ended the race, he dismissed it. I wonder if his vision changed because of it?

See articles 3.7.2 thru 3.7.8 of the 2015 technical regulations..... I was going to post them here, but can't seem to C&P from a PDF. But, TBH, they're not the easiest reading in the world either..... Fauxtus 'twin tusk' thing is definitely out for example.....

Here's the link to the PDF's if you're interested. Select 'FIA F1 world championship' on the right and be sure to get the latest rev.

    Thanks, Ian!

    That's an understatement!

3.7.8 Only a single section, which must be open, may be contained within any longitudinal vertical cross section taken parallel to the car centre line forward of a point 150mm ahead of the front wheel centre line, less than 250mm from the car centre line and more than 125mm above the reference plane.

Good grief! I'm an engineer and even I don't understand it.

It makes one long for the era when if you met the engine size (and at some times, weight) limits, almost anything else was legal! I wish we could have a V-12.......

That document looks like such a chore. I can see why it was easy for Red Bull to run into problems when they did in re aero.

What are the extra air intakes in the roll hoop of the Lotus for?

A lot seem to have extra air holes. Perhaps a more efficient way to feed the turbo or intercooler the teams found?

They are routed to various areas to cool specific components. Mercedes did the same thing last year only they looked like a pair of dog ears. I expect mercedes to have a similar solution.

Can anybody point to some definitive statement that Ferrari are going with push-rod vs. pull-rod front suspension, or must we wait for the launch?

Allison hinted very strongly at it last year, and Scarbs tweeted it as a confirmed switch. If you want to be 101% sure then yes, I guess you'll have to wait for the launch.

Here's what the F2015 starting up for the first time sounds like:

    Woot!..... :)

They start at ~2am Sunday my time (Pacific). Apparently, Sky are streaming something - don't think its TV, just an audio/text stream (?) Anyone know if the BBC are there?

No matter, I'm not about to get up for it live quite yet...... I'm sure there'll be many reports by the time I wake up.

    No doubt the usual stuff;

"We've got a lot of work to do". (Generally from those that suck....)
"We're satisfied with our first day". (From those at the front....)
"We have a lot of development parts coming about which we're really optimistic". (All of them ;))

    Cheers,
    Ian
PS, Anyone want to guess the over/under on how many laps McHonda will do?..... I'm gonna stick my neck out and say less than 5 timed laps on Sunday...... ;)

    +1

Except for the crazy amount of +ve camber on the front!...... None of them are running close to that, are they?

I suspect a little Photoshop here.... They've also 'blackened' the intakes/hidden them with the camber so we can't see how big they are......

    Cheers,
    Ian

Ian with the good eye for detail!

Autosport should have live coverage on their website I believe for test. SKY will have a nightly wrap-up. I posted a link in this thread earlier Im sure about the SKY coverage.

well that's no achievement. Didn't they state last year that they could hide an elephant in there?
