Just read this whole thread for the first time and I'm honestly embarrassed to be a 355 brother right now. Everyone has so much hate! This guy literally just bought his second 355 and was excited to share his purchase with the community, and everyone just shredded him based mostly on the opinion of one or two members. To me he was very honest about the condition of his car, stated his purchase price, and gave examples of work that he is doing to make the car better. Whether a split seam is acceptable to one person vs another means nothing and I honestly feel bad for the OP who I believe had good intentions. Drive and enjoy the car, and keep making it better.

On another note, you should seriously look at a different leather treatment because that shiny oily look is terrible. I've had great results with Lexol.

The conditioner was still wet in those photos it was a 3 step cleaner dye and condition process. Thank you for the compliments I don't mind that everyone calls the car a pos junk etc, its all laughs because it drives great and I like it more than the mint condition spider I sold. I drive this car way more because I bought it cheap, my other car was the first ferrari and got special treatment but I will always miss it.

Eric, is that your cat? I had adopted a stray cat, that looked identical to the one in the photograph. He was a great cat, unfortunately he was struck by a car.

Well stated. I agree. He stated that he was happy with his car purchase, and that is all that matters. Everyone one has different levels of acceptability with regards to car purchases or purchases in general. Some will accept nothing less than perfection, others will. There is a lot of variability between the best and the worst.

I give GTSNJ a lot of credit. He remained polite through the inquisition.

Since I'm back on the ground. Here is my cat photo to hopefully end the bickering and put a stake through the thread.

I don't have any issue with GTSNJ with his car. Takes all types. on all our cars. His tact on his credibility is his to establish or lose. I just wish he could be polite and post his first name in the profile... Who the hell wants to type GTSNJ in caps all the time... :)

Did we read the same thread? It's posts like yours that make me question whether or not I was being too harsh, or, despite a somewhat popular opinion asserting that GTSNJ is a good, "honest" guy, I saw through the BS and was warranted in sticking to my guns. I've seen multiple discrepancies in his posts concerning this car, and I'm not the only one; others have seen it too, not to mention the other users who were actually interested in the car, and have first-hand knowledge of it when they inspected it for possible purchase and then declined (with, apparently, good reason).

What have I missed? I'm not so stubborn that I oppose different viewpoints that are opposite my own. Again, I have nothing invested in this either way; I just seek the truth so that it can be accurately documented in my database. Can you enlighten me as to how you arrived at your perception of GTSNJ, his car, and his honesty? From his initial post, I saw someone who recently bought a 355 that was a driver - not a show car, but a driver (which is great!), but he ended his comments by saying the car could be had for the right offer. Then, subsequent posts from people who are more in the know - and/or people who had personally seen the car and were privy to flaws that either weren't mentioned by the owner, and/or flat-out denied. This is all not to mention the VIN discrepancy, and GTSNJ's unwillingness to post unedited pictures of the VIN to prove what has now been proven to be more than mere speculation by others (including me); verisimilitude is even more dangerous than blatant deceit.

I'm confident in the statements I've made. But I'm not so stubborn that I can't consider others' perspectives.

Carbon, should be clear at this point but for the record we are in agreement.

I know some are just trying to keep the peace but I call a spade a spade.

I think your assessment is pretty spot on. What I think you may have overlooked is that at an unspecified point this thread went off the deep end and the OP went into full on professional forum trolling mode. Intentionally and subtly omitting facts and making circular arguments for the sake of getting more of a reaction from people. By that time I was just interested in Cat pictures. The cars history speaks for itself and this thread speaks for Fchats opinion of it... the good, bad and ugly.

I like to think that, in recent years, I've been able to maintain a more level head in temperamental situations where opinions and emotions an easily flare. It's not that I take issue with differing opinions, or having people disagree with me, it's just frustrating that, based on some posts, some people apparently don't see the truth of this car and its owner.

I concede I can be naive, and I'm easily poked by the sticks of more professional trolls. I like to think I'm not easily riled up, but I tirelessly work at documenting Ferraris, their options, and their histories. I'll reiterate once again that I have nothing invested in the owner or this car. But it's frustrating to come across an example like this thread, and see such a neglected car that's being blatantly and deceitfully represented as something more than its true condition - and some people seem to be advocating the owner's posts and the work he's put into the car. From what I've seen - and maybe I'm just too skeptical these days - the car is a pig, is being represented as anything but, and some people seem to be duped into believing that it's perfectly fine. It makes no difference to me if the owner sells it, and if someone here is the one who buys it. But to have all the information uncovered in this thread, and someone might still get duped into buying what they believe is a no-nonsense car, is maddening.

FerrariChat is an indispensable resource - and if that's overlooked or overshadowed because some people think that some posters are being too aggressive or unwelcoming, well then, that's just sad (and frustrating). I suppose there's enough information here that I don't need to continue posting here and/or quibbling with GTSNJ.

If he ends up posting unedited pictures of the VIN on the car and the VIN on the title, someone please let me know.

Carbon continues to call my car trash junk etc. No surprise, all he is going by is photos that others have posted. I have been very forthcoming with the condition of my car yet continue to be attacked. I won't post Vin numbers and title photos to play his little game which he has started. Anyone who sees the car will see the truth, 134282 this car isn't for you we get it pal.

Furthermore this is not a for sale post. Thanks to all the publicity I actually have cash offers on this car, but I'm not looking to sell until after summer at the earliest, I'm really enjoying the 6 speed and overall experience right now.

Once he reads the appropriate statute and does the research he could have his answer. He obviously likes to play detective so I am confused why he wouldn't take two minutes and Google it. Instead, frustration and insults have gotten the best of him ; they would get me too if I stared are Vin numbers too long.

I will continue to post here. This was an honest thread that turned ugly when haters stepped in. I never decieved nor misrepresented the car in any way. I actually restored it to my liking, only to be attacked by others in the process. Anyone who sees this car and reads this thread laughs and calls it a conspiracy theory.

I will keep a copy in my car for entertainment of how innacurate internet hearsay can be.

Furthermore after doing a Google I saw this thread.

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ff-f12/428857-what-your-vin.html

It is clear that carbon borderline harasses members for vin numbers and even admits he will take the last 6 (serial), which in this case I provided voluntarily before he stepped in because thats how I always referred to a 355. Now he flips the switch and demands full numbers. Give me a break .

I owe this individual nothing for his database, he is trying to smear my reputation when I purchased a car 100% legally with matching numbers, DMV verified! My thread was about a project this guy takes it to the next level that's for sure.

I wish you all the best I will continue to post but will not play these childish games on an online forum. Is it true you have a prancing horse tattoo? I saw someone here locally with one on their arm and thought it was pretty cool myself, it appears you love Ferraris and so does everyone else here. Its an awesome passion and we can all coexist with opposing views. Let's chill out and get along and no I will not be helping your database with this car, originally I would have but you have only attacked me on this forum . Its all there on the internet pal.

    The end.
