McLaren ups the game in the style department

F1 News - McLaren F1 2015 Launch: McLaren reveals Honda-powered MP4-30

Between Force India's new scheme and now McLaren, the other teams have some work to do to catch up in the looks dept. I'd like to see Ferrari do something a little special and RB's look has gotten a bit tired. Maybe we'll see something a bit different.

It looks like the Hakkinen/Coulthard era livery. I was kind of expecting the orange/white "throwback" look, but this one's cool.

 

Me too. I thought Honda would prefer a white car.

 

I think Williams have the white car locked up. Kinda hard to make a better looking scheme than that.

 

They could have done so many bold and great looking color schemes and they do not. Major livery fail.

For all the old references on twitter to the white/orange car from the 80's /90's todays color scheme was kind of a let down.

Although, at the end of the day if they have a winning car I could care less. It just would have been nice winning in style...

 

If they're not going to adopt 1968 orange, then they should adopt the 1966 (Yamura) scheme: white with a black (or was it dark blue?) stripe running up the middle.

 

i'm kinda underwhelmed here...i think some white would've been a nice pop...now we have 3 black / chrome cars...

 

Still no major sponsor. Lol.

 

The car design looks good to me.

The livery... SMFH. I agree freshmeat, now there's 3 black/chrome cars, although they're not really chrome, just a metallic silver color. Now if they actually used a chrome paint, then it would really distinguish it from Mercedes and Force India.

I would love it if they used actual chrome paint like this instead.

...And I remember that Sauber may have more silver/gray in their cars. It's going to be
too many for me. Yes 100% agree, somebody should come up with something bold.

 

Didn't Ron once say Mclaren were like Man Utd and shouldn't undersell their value in sponsor deals hence the empty space on their cars?

How long have Utd played without a sponsor on their shirt exactly? :0)

 

Reminds me of Spiderman's AGS livery. Sponsor negligent seemed to be the team's credo throughout their involvement in F1....

 

The car looks extremely pretty. I don;t know about the livery and empty spaces though. I also feel like the Honda fonts should be in red.
