"There’s a theory that of those who were confirmed a LaFerrari, if you wanted the car a bit earlier than others, you had to opt for a red one. With or without a black roof, but it had to be red."

    Anyone heard about this before?

i don't doubt it since most of the eariler cars were red, but there was a black one spotted very early on, probably the 2nd ever (correct me if i am wrong) spotted on the street after the mc red one( the one that was crashed).

After all it makes sense, though I wonder why Ferrari preferred to build the earlier units only in red(/black/yellow?), maybe they wanted to get the production steady with the standard spec before starting to accept variations?

Yes very early cars had quite a tight spec.

Yes, the first bunch of cars were all red and did not have the option of full personalization. I believe Peter's LaF was one of the first, if not the first, to come out of the factory with full personalization.

AMAZING! Nice to see some individuality….for me…wouldn't do two tone on the roof….all else is lovely!

I like it. Bold choice but the outcome is great if you ask me.

the great design of this car underneath any color helps a great deal. i like this black with grey roof one better than the black with silver top one, but that red strip does look like some crude vinyl decision in a video game customization of the car. the line , shape and form are all too complex for laferrari to carry something like this. it might have worked on his previous cars, but on laferrari ,especially the side and 3/4 view of it looks like some sort of ribbon on a gift, hideous in my opinion.

customization is great, but it has to be done right. it is almost as silly as someone painted their name on the hood.

I could be wrong...but could the 255 additional cars delivered by Ferrari in 2014 be the LaFerraris delivered?
