You could be right. Then again, in 3 years time it could be seen as very expensive. Who really knows? Its all speculation.
so true. bigger forces at play. trend in motion stays in motion until a greater opposing force. biggest move is final crescendo. but who knows when that is

V8 Twin-Turbo, 400HP, Group B spec racing car, first generation, special AC, electric window lifter, seatcovers: red and black. The Ferrari was imported from Italy to Japan as one of two of its kind by the Japanese dealer "Corns". The Ferrari has never been involved in any accidents and there are no damages or defects of any kind. Papers which prove the accident-free history of the car are available. The car is in an excellent, new condition. In its edition from 08.2011 Japanese magazine "Rosso", a report featured this exact Ferrari 288 GTO. The milometer shows 2795km and the car has never changed from its first and only owner. I am a private collector of vintage cars and I know how to keep a car like this in its best condition. Since the Ferrari`s price will surely increase in the future, the best time to invest in it is now. I am proud of the car`s current state and honest with all the given details, but I recommend for anyone who is interested to check out the car and persuade oneself of the great condition the Ferrari`s in. For the one who knows the worth of a car like this, the Ferrari will become a precious gem/ piece in their collection. This is surely is one of the last chances to find a Ferrari 288 GTO in such a good condition as found in its present case! hmm... 1 owner car, 1/4 of the mileage of the last car that sold at auction, but offered 10% cheaper ...
Perhaps he missed the Scottsdale auction of the Matsuda GTO... Has anyone tried to buy a car out of Japan?
This is a market where there is considerable range in prices, and, its generally thought that premier auctions bring more than private or consigned sales. That 10% difference you speak of could be the adjustment the seller has made (for auction fees etc) in his selling price.
How much would it cost to import this car into the US / taxes etc? Your answer might be there somewhere. I think it varies throughout Europe but I think you would be look at anywhere between 5% (UK if it is deemed historically significant) and 20%

Interesting, with the F40 style exhaust, but much worse than the original spec IMO. The 288GTO is just about perfect the way it came from factory. The only modification I think makes that car look (and sound) better are the megaphono's.
I think the owner wanted something different, and perhaps he succeeded there, but I agree the car's purity has been compromised.
