Lots is new. It's said to have a redesigned backend, more power, less weight and limited production as well. It will definitely be unveiled in Geneva. Will be a great show this year. Glad that Ferrari is getting some pics out this week of their newest iteration.

By the end of the year, Mclaren would releas the 16th version of the mp4-12m. Named 880xyz will have more than 880hp to compensate the succes of the ferrari.

I will be not surprised if Mclaren use the same engine for next twenty years, they will just put bigger turbine every time

Can you elaborate why no carbon fiber tub for anything then special models?

Thanks for the input because I was always curious about this, it can be because of the price.... So why?!

cost, model hierarchy, production capacity, the fact that carbon is only about 5% lighter(not the entire car, just the tub/mono) to a comparable alloy structure, easier/cheaper to fix.... the only tangible benefit is no loss of rigidity on the convertible.

Audi/Lambo were very smart with the Huracan, it uses carbon and alloy construction in a way that combines both materials' advantages without any downsides.
The center tunnel and rear firewall is one-piece carbon while alloy is used everywhere else.

Strange to see some people dissapointed because its not a mini LaFerrari. The "old" 458 was still an awesome car and could still compete with competitors. Now it will get updated with revised styling, a new engine and probably new electronics. I dont see what is necesarraly wrong with this. Perhaps the only thing that would have been cool is a electronic supercharger/turbo but technology is probably too fresh at the moment.

We will find out tommorow!!! Not sure what time it gets released, but tommorow is their online launch.

It may different, but am sure Ferrari will do a good job.

You know you just described the McLaren P1 right?

The P85D doesn't beat every car. It doesn't beat the LaFerrari, it doesn't beat the F12, it doesn't best the McLaren 650S, it doesn't beat the P1, it doesn't beat a Porsche Turbo S, it doesn't beat a Corvette Stingray (which also beats P85D in price).

Of course if you have to turn some corners the P85D, due to its heavy weight, now starts losing to a LOT of other cars.

If you make the race over 400 miles the P85D won't even be able to finish it.

Heck it might not even finish 60 minutes of a track day if you run it hard.

There have been Teslas that occasionally turn up at my local track days. If you drive them like you would drive any other car on a track day, they last 1 lap. The car goes into emergency mode due to insufficient engine cooling. I believe the P85+ has additional engine cooling, but they still only tend to last 1 lap.

I am not fan of electric cars, but we must put some things in right perspective. Tesla S is (heavy) family car with very good acceleration and that's it. If Tesla ever decides to make proper sports electric car than we could make serious comparison to regular sports cars when it comes to track performance, durability etc.

HA, it's Ferrari that's slapping on the turbos to keep up with the McLaren. Or more specifically they're using the Cali engine. The 675LT will be the fastest supercar in the world positioned below the hypercars.

Of course, its another type of car as the "standard" 458T. The McLaren is much more track-focused.

Certainly. I was just addressing the gentleman's assertion that McLaren was trying to keep up with Ferrari. Of course, every car company would like to keep up with Ferrari from a brand value and sales stand point but from a performance stand point, I believe it is Ferrari trying to keep up with McLaren. The car that we will see tomorrow will undoubtedly be a great performer and stunning to look at, can't wait.

Maybe I expected too much from Ferrari engineers , but sound on this video seems very tamed :( or in other words - unsuccessful...
