at this point i am asking myself why buy the 458m and not the aerobeetle turbo S? sound is comparable, the porsche wins in traction, estehtics we see tomorrow. peter
Thats exactly the point. Porsche has (when it comes to turbos) trumped all of the new turbos and holds the crown for future. Why pay 300-350k for something that you can find for 200k in a porsche? Its waaay much faster, Has the same sound and is very reliable. It even has backseats...The feel and soul is gone with ferrari and the only that will remain is looks and image which will change rapidly with the new policies. Good luck for the future but it might be time to get porsche stocks.
I examined each frame of the video by moving the cursor on Quick Time and I think the car of the video is still wrapped . you can understand when you see the back . You may notice the license plate and the side is faceted like on the car wrapped
But do you really think the 458T, or whatever it is called, is going to outperform the Speciale? Because to beat the McLaren 650S (the plain old one, not the 675LT) it has to do at least that. I can't imagine Ferrari is going to give a big "screw you" to their Speciale customers by announcing a faster car before they've even finished producing all of the customer-ordered Speciale and SpecialeA cars. It also means they probably need to make it as fast as the more-expensive F12. Again, I can't see them doing that without building a lot of customer resentment. The 458 is a great car (I'm on my second now) and to make a desirable update to it doesn't necessarily mean making it a lot faster. But I doubt they're going to make it faster than the Speciale or F12. I guess we'll find out soon. BTW I have an FF and I'm thinking about the updated FF. My expectations there are that they'll put in the more modern head unit, add a little more HP, and maybe a suspension tweak and some lightening (carbon fiber body parts perhaps). For me that would be enough to go ahead and update and it won't impinge on F12 performance but come a little closer. This is kind of the light through which I view the 458M. I expect it will be a worthy upgrade for 458 owners who want one but not hurt their product line clarity.
It sounds like the Speciale in low rpm, could it be that Ferrari purposefully made the speciale exhaust suck so we would feel the difference (for turbo) so much? Because the speciale with a novitec exhaust its like an F1
Well, they are really careful at Ferrari. Latest video-teaser uploaded on their website is called "458_BYNIGHT-v7_YT", they surely don't want to spoil name of the new car. Also, found out that next to 5 released teasers "Performance", "Design", "Passion", "Innovation" and "Power" there are two more which they didn't released (yet).
That's just someone merging a Speciale and F12 TRS with the addition of a poorly executed side intake. Looks awful.
