I just listed by 308 for sale. Hard for me to believe, it took me weeks to pull the trigger after I wrote it up.... For some, owning a car is just a piece of machinery. For others like me, its been a big and amazing part of my life, the connection being emotional and financial....but time to move on. I am still trying to figure a fair price, and will post that as soon as I can. I think i need a hug. Geno
Well, at least you have a seller's market these days. I hope you get a good price....... it will ease the pain a bit
Sure didn't see this coming. Anyone looking for a carb car this is it! Best of luck Geno! I'll be watching this with great interest.
Hey Geno, say it ain't so!! You are responsible for helping me find the excellent GT4 that I have today. I learned how to set the carbs by your Youtube video, you showed us how to record the carb intake sound on a GoPro camera plus much more. Geno, thank you for going above and beyond by washing my car before I saw it, your valuable advice, the FOG drive and your great enthusiasm for all things 308. You went way out of your way to help a total stranger find a great car and I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for me. You are a true Gentleman. I am having an outstanding Ferrari experience because you set me on the right path. Mille Grazie, Keith
Geno, now that I joined the Compomotive TS-17 wheels club, you're gonna sell your 308? NO! Do everything in your power to keep it.
I'd have a hard time selling a carb 308. I'd sell the jalpa instead... Good luck with your decision. Never easy. Robb
Gino, do you have a set of Compomotive TS-17's? Will you be pulling them off and selling them separate from the car?
Geno, take a deep breath. And one more. Plan a nice, quiet evening-off. Switch off any means of communication. Have a beer/coffee/drink/fruit juice. Or all. (but don't mix them !) Play some Pavarotti. Go to sleep early. Set the alarm early. Inform your colleaques you will be a bit later, tomorrow. Then warm the 308 up, take her out for a serious drive (hence the getting up early, make sure you have the roads for yourself), let her (and yourself) cool down, then go sit next to the car, listen to the tinkering of the hot exhaust parts, enjoy her scent, enjoy her breathtaking pretty, timeless lines. You're not going to sell the car. Really. Unless you must in order to feed your family, which I find a legitimate reason. Very. So, let us know tomorrow you took the right decision now, will you ??
I'm going to chime in here with an alternate view: It's clear that you have enjoyed the car. And it's also clear that you have given a lot of thought to moving on. You should do what makes you happy. And if happy is another Lambo, do it. I got rid of my Porsche to get the QV--only room in the garage for one or the other. I can't tell you how many people told me not to do it. Guess what? Following my instincts was the right call for me. Life is too short to own cars that are not exactly what you want. Follow your gut.
Any body would sell their beetle to get a Ferrari. Thats not a fair comparison😄😄😄😄😄😄
GLWS! This reminds me of what I always tell people when they say they are NEVER selling such and such car. After working thirteen years for a major collector and being around all types of cars eventually EVERYTHING is for sale. No matter how cherishes a car may be sooner or later something else comes along that ticks that checkbox a bit more and old faithful gets sold. It's not a bad thing. This way someone new gets to enjoy and take care of her and the circle continues. Enjoy your new car in good health! Thanks for letting us share your 308 experience.
