Anyone buying a car 6 months before it's known to go out of production is either buying it because they genuinely love it or because they're a moron. Anyone who is upset about this or gets burned should have long since know that it always happens. Always. Over and over.

Thank you. I enjoy the challenge of trying to imagine what surprises the new designs bring. For example, I guessed all the different scenarios for the side scoop, but never combined the elements to look like this. And although, I realized the air intake would be combined with intercooler intake, I didn't expect the prominent splitter in the intake.

I think this car is a worthy successor to the 458, but the 458 is so Pininfarina, so clean and original. This car is in keeping with Ferrari Design's recent efforts - every little detail is fussed over, a lot of detail, but ultimately a little too "fussy". See also Cali-t, F60 America, etc.

I think this will look nice in real pics and live - scoop will look less imposing, I think, but the CGI car looks good too because they really slam it to the ground, which is a bit disingenuous.

i like the design. its just that those door handles are visually unappealing.

but then again, I'm in no position to even think about buying one, so what does it matter.

It looks beautiful, but......very similar to 458. Even the interior looks the same. Now the 1 million dollar question, how does it sound?

I like it a lot, plus I'm a big fan of turbo cars. Bravo Ferrari.

Did the engine lose 500 RPM on the top end redline? One thing that was spine tingling was the 458 at redline. That last 1000 really sound viscous.

I have to say that Ferrari designers and engineers create the most beautiful looking engines in the world. This one is exceptionally well done.

Honestly, I think the 488GTB makes the Speciale even more Speciale!

Last N/A V8 Ferrari (for a good while at least), and it's a magical car in it's own right.

Plus the 488GTB is a further iteration of the same platform, not an 'all new' car as such.

Faster, pah. Better looking? for me no, but that's subjective.

looking forward to seeing it in the metal. Pic's look quite 80's Koenig Ferrari to me though- wide look, large intakes..

Probably designed to be a CF option, along with the sill/skirt.

I like the front and rear views. I'm not as thrilled by the side vent and the door treatment. The door creases, the scooped out area, and the oddly-located door handle remind me of the door on an aircraft overhead storage bin. I agree with The Mayor that the vent treatment may look a bit strange with the Spider top (unless they radically change that too). One thing that will have to go with the Spider is the "hammer-head" engine lid. Since the rear upper intakes encompass the entire rear spoiler area, the old engine lid would make no sense. I'm anxious to see the Spider. As for the 488 GTB, overall I'd say that visually it's a smart update of the Italia. Fred

Slight progression from 458, I really like it. 458 set the stage for these slight refinements and enhancements. Looking forward to spyder version!

+1 Looks way better than a spec imho.

Has more aggressive edges and styling cues too, making it less pretty than a 458 but just enough we can call the car handsome rather than pretty.

Oddly now the base 458 looks dated to me?

But I think the jump in performance of this car is pretty extreme and the styling takes a lot of cues from the Speciale -- certainly in the front.

It's maybe a little too close and a little too good if you already spent $350 grand on a Speciale?

Can anyone black out the center vane in the vent? I think in TDF Blue and a blacked vane will look amazing.

You have a great point about the non-turbo engine. The question is though what about the gearbox. This car may be "softer" and the Speciale more aggressive giving it more emotion.

It's part of ferrari magic that every time a new model appears, everything else seems
outdated. When real world pictures and videos come around we will be talking for another
    masterpiece from maranello.

Really? Go back and look at the LaFerrari the front of the 488 is perfect and comes from the LF blood line.

Ferrari has done it again, this car is gorgeous but just like the 430 is more powerful and updated th3e 360s beautiful smooth lines will always set itself apart from the 430 just now as will the 458's beauty.

All I can say is wow to Ferrari they have really kicked ass with the 458 and 488. If I'm a 458 owner I not worried though, that car is a timeless beauty.

Looks better than the 458S from every angle. And no little winglets in front of the rear wheels. Does not look as mean as the 458S.

    Love the scoops.

100 hp more than the 458!

Looks like Ferrari hit another home run. The spider should be most interesting. Can't wait.

It usually takes me awhile to warm up to new Fcars but I liked the F12 and the 488 right away.

    Best
