By this time next week it is very likely that no 80 - 82 GTBi will ever see a price average over $50,000 absolute tops. Ever. But again, I won't be sure until Fri at the latest.
Stupid asking prices Sure do get the internet buzzing. Here's my 82 GTBi I'll let it go for $85K Only seen snow once. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was going to make my US car more European looking with Euro bumpers, diaper delete and Euro side markers but having lived with it and as one of the reasons for loving 308's was Magnum PI I've decided to keep it stock and reinstate the US side markers which were deleted at some point. It's mainly for my own satisfaction but if value is increased because it's more original then great!!!!
If you would have parked another trailer behind it with mud on the tires, and a few cases of empty beer bottles with a bonfire pit I'm sure you can list it at $99,000. Think big my man !
Recently I had 3 offers in the $80K range for my 87 328 GTB red/tan. Not gonna cut it! Maybe I'll sell in the spring, for a market-correct price. Then again, maybe I won't! These cars could be the next Dino. Less than 130 328 GTBs imported here 86-89. Greg
FYI - the 1979 308gts on ebay with an $89k buy it now sold last year for $38k. The dealer that is offering it didn't even bother to change the oil and the oil filter for God's sakes.
Hilarious. There is no question the market is up, but people are now losing their minds. I've seen prices up like 15-60% depending on model, condition, etc vs 3 years ago or so. Glass is up more in some markets. Some of these idiots expect 3-400% gains? No. Lol.
'84 GTS sold on F-Chat for $60K in a day. Same year as my car, but double the miles that I have (50K) - not that mileage matters, but buyers seem to like lower mileage cars.
People feel safer with lower miles and all things being equal they're right. But all things are never equal, mileage and condition do not automatically relate.
The ASKING price was $60K. We don't KNOW what the sale price is (at least I don't know), plus the sale hasn't been completed either. I'm confused, according to the current issue of FML, the asking price index for 308QV GTS's are $39.1K... the '84 GTS referred to above is nice, but it isn't spectacular, and the seller was asking $60K for it... is the market moving too fast for FML, or (fill in the blank) ???
Yes, understood, but given the speed of sale, you could infer that seller got close to his ask. And yes, sale was pending, that is accurate. I wish my Lexus could sell in one day - says a lot about the pricing of 308s.
Come to think of it, did you know you're mentioned on Page 1 of Volume 40 number 2 (from 2 weeks ago)?
I was told I would be but I haven't subscribed in years so I haven't seen it. I need to get one from someone.
It's been a couple of years since I've seen a nice QV for $39k. Where are all of these deals on 308s I'm apparently missing out on?!
1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi for Auction | Anglia Car Auctions For all of those doubters out there who say 2v cars are less valuable this went for $81k plus buyers premium and after looking at it over the weekend it needed a fair bit of work!
Remember when winter was the quiet season when it came to sales? There seems to be a rising sense of urgency among would be owners. A sign of a market in flux if not a bubble.
I'm not an expert on the earliest models, but maybe the small lights in the rear bumper indicates that this is a Vetroresina? If not, I guess the price indicates that it is... http://m.autoscout24.de/angebote/ferrari-308-gtb-benzin-rot-265653373
For a number of perspective buyers who are on the fence, a move in pricing will usually get them to move. Hopefully they won't just buy anything, and stay focused on their purchase.
