Does absolutely nothing for me...happy to have the original clean design and no turbos.

Be careful what you wish for...

Home run = $50 grand more to the MSRP. :)

Sounds more like a self-esteem/entitlement problem to me, if that's the case. There is another 675hp TT V8 launching in Geneva that will toast the Speciale too, not to mention a certain RS model. That's life. You can't expect your car to be on top for more than a year or two these days given how many manufacturers there are. They one-up each other every couple years. By the time people start getting their 488's, people will be salivating over the Ford GT. C'est la vie. Every car gets it's day in the sun, but it just so happens the days are getting shorter and shorter. Need a big bankroll if you want to keep up with the Jones these days.

Besides, whether they like it more or not, they can't even get one. 488 is probably a year away for the vast majority of buyers. It's not even going into production for another 6-8 months.

Not bad.. like it more than the Speciale but less than the Italia, imho the Italia's design
will remain forever iconic as the folks at Pininfarina are hard to be beat..

All in all though I think the 488's design is pleasingly fluid, as for the engine sound judging from the teaser video it sounds a little lackluster.. then again anything on 4 wheels sounds lackluster to me haha :D ;)

Good job, but I think you overlayed the spider b-pillar and door too low, so looks too close to scoops. Doors between coupe and spider stay the same.

Thanks for that excellent job. My question is, given the high cutout in the quarter panel, where would the top cutline be? Perhaps the scoop will have a modified shape or size. Fred

In general I am very satisfied with design, but I had to add few small touches. On first render you can see painted roof and front spoiler in black and black mesh on side intake. Side profile looks much more cleaner which I wanted to achieve with these adjustments. On second render you can see detail of roof and front spoiler painted in black.

If they put a na V12 in there I might be tempted.

    Looks:

Fchatters and other Fcar enthusiasts will notice the 488 vs 458 right away. Most folks will not be able to tell the difference unless they are sitting side by side.

I'm liking the looks so far, can't wait to see it in person.

Not a big fan of turbocharged cars in general, but I guess that's the trend now.

Prices only go up, never down. Currency will have no effect on the price of this car IMO since most costs are probably in Euros anyway.

I agree. Didn't like 458 with black roof because of the strange cut line of the rear fender/quarter panel but this looks to have been smoothed out here. So, yeah mini LaF!

Edit: funny, just noticed post above mentions baby LaF. Total coincidence as I was replying to a post a few pages back.

It is what the car will look like. In that regards it doesn't matter if it is photography or cgi.

I love it. Normally I need a few weeks and other photos to have a new model grow on me. This one pushed my buttons right away.

The only part of the car I'm unsure of is the front bumper and the vertical posts in it. The front bumper is very "mouthy" looking. And I feel like the posts should be angled, or as someone else said, look better blacked out perhaps.

I was always a huge fan of the air intakes along the side of the 360 and 430s. Happy to see them again.

The 458 was almost to smooth in my eyes and never grew on me. Beautiful car, just not for me. Maybe I like the more aggressive look, and that it why I prefer the Speciale and now the 488 over the Italia.

Different strokes for different folks. You really cannot go wrong with any of them.

    Bravo Ferrari! Bravo!

    I think it looks great!
Turbos are fine, Ferrari already has a hallowed history with mid engined V8 turbos (288 GTO, F40).
    Lighter than a 458, +
I think the side intakes are fine, form follows function.
I like the 488 name, it makes sense and has a nice ring to it.
Looks like Ford beat them to the punch with the tail lights, but I like them.

Hmmmm…..the side intake is clearly the most drastic and controversial feature of the car. In time I might come to love it….but right now its a bit of a bugaboo for me. I'd love to see its impact on the design taken down a peg or two just to allow the flanks of the car the chance to flow from the front to the back undisturbed…..
