I had a question and thought someone at fchat would know the answer. Would a 430 steering wheel fit the 355? I'd appreciate the help.
    Thank you in advance.

Personally I like the 360 wheel better- I love the look and the fact that it doesn't have any of the buttons on it. Also might be better to use a 360 wheel as the 430 would have the mannitino switch which wouldn't do anything in a 355. I wonder if the airbag system is the same or if you would have to disable it?

Honestly I do not want to spend $1500 for the airbag. They have covers for the 430 wheel that is $50. $600 or so for the wheel + $1000 re-do of the wheel. Another $1500 for the airbag is a little too much I think.
If $$$ was no issue I love the 360cs wheel the best.

You can put whatever steering wheel you want on any car, it just takes adapters worst case.

I personally think there's nothing nicer than the F40 steering wheel on the F355. Period correct and suits the car.

F40 steering wheel is sweet. Tough to find one. The pic is not f40 I think but I maybe wrong.

The only problem with adding a 430 wheel is that the manettino and starter switches will not do anything so it's kind of like a pair of "third wheels" you may not want. Would you set up the starter button to work? I don't know the complexities involved.

575 wheel might look better without missing functionality.

I have little faith in a 20 year old airbag. :) So I put my original wheel in a box.

I have someone that could have the start button work. The question is will the wheel fit in place??

I think you will need an adapter. Maybe custom. Otherwise we'd have seen photos of it done previously.

This might be an adventure you have to pay for.

Get a 430 wheel and see if it works on your car.

A couple of thoughts for you:

I have also seen references to the 430 airbag being dual-stage whereas the original 355 airbag is almost certainly single-stage. That difference alone would cause enough concern that I would consider another solution unless you are very knowledgeable over airbag design. Maybe airbag operation is not vital to you, and you could just skip that part and appreciate the design and operation of the newer wheel and paddles?

Let us know what you decide. It sounds like an interesting project.

I like that, I'd rather have the actual enamel Ferrari logo on it, though. I think if I were to swap it'd either be the factory non-airbag wheel (there may not be a better looking f-car steering wheel, period) or a 550 maranello wheel. The 360 and 430 wheels just don't quite fit the look of the car for me.

    John,

That wheel looks pretty good. Reminds me of a Lamborghini wheel for some reason.

Actually it's the same wheel used in the koenigsegg cars. A lot of Esprit and Porsche owners also use this wheel.

Ah yes, thats the 'ol Momo Monte Carlo. 80's to early 90's. One of my favorites I used on 911's to mustangs, but for my 355 I went with the Momo Corse, very similar just a curve to the upper center spoke to match the curves on the 355.
