Thin ad. Not many pictures. Some pimping as in the wheels and airbox. Definitely not stock seats. Rebuilt engine. Wonder how many miles on the chassis/gearbox.

A little too pimped out for most true Ferrari guys. I think those seats are stock frames, but have been reupholstered in this "custom" style. I suspect they were done in vinyl as well. As Irishman mentioned......the other pimped out items are those gawd-awful wheels, and the air box top. What's that in the middle between the seats?? Looks like a subwoofer. In his display sign it looks like he lists a 1000 watt stereo system. Geez!!

At the asking price, I'd say pass and keep shopping for something that is a more of an original car.

The sign in the trunk says it has 300hp and does 160 to 180 mph. Quite a remarkable rebuild if that is the case.

    Mike good morning!
Have any of you Southern California Gentleman ran into this car at any of the gatherings? Sounds like it's priced way below market at this time, wonder if he's unable or just tired of trying to get it to pass the sniff test in your state?

I spoke to the seller and I'm very interested in the car. The wheels and seats can easily be brought back to original. There is also a gold pinstripe in the paint around the entire car. Thats a problem, but maybe it could be heat gunned or wet sanded off.

I need some help checking this car out. I'm in Nashville and have a deal with the buyer. Can you check it out this weekend? The seller is not very tech savy and seems to have trouble emailing pics, etc. I need boots on the ground on this one. Thanks.

I was just going to ask the same thing. If this guy gets $40,000 US for this car then I have lost all hope on this forum. What a train wreck that is.

    Thanks Mike!
I would be interested to know if he has import doc's and if it is currently registered, also, to what extent (years) does he have maintenance records? Original paint?

FYI I'm not a serious buyer, as my wife has already said no until the 82 is finished and leaves the shop. :( One of these days though, another 84/85 Euro WILL be mine! Oh yes!!!

Looks like dealer plates on the back. Maybe he was unable to register the car here (Euro in California...)

This car definitely has a value where it's worth it at some point, but $40K is not it imo. I've seen much nicer and more original "untouched" cars in this price range. Everything can be brought back to stock, but cost is obviously the factor. Being discussed here are things we can see from the few pictures in the ad.......I'm wondering about the items we don't see at this point. I'm not trying to put this car down, but what I'm saying is that I think you can find a nicer car if you're looking to spend this amount of money. If the car was being sold for $20K, then I would have nothing to say. :)

Btw, I assume those signs are ones that the owner puts out when the car is being shown at shows? I've seen show signs listing specs and upgrades on the car, but never on how often he has the timing belts changed, how often he has the valves adjusted, and how many quarts of oil the engine takes? Plus listing the prices with each of the service items?? That sign doesn't look like a for sale sign either.
