You're not going to leave a horse head in my bed if I don't come down there to look at your car quickly enough... are you?

Wow - you were lucky! Which draw did you enter? :D

    ;)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Because they feel like it's easier for them to "win" something than to get there by working for it so they identify with someone who won the lottery easier than someone who hustled hard to get where they are. Psychology is a strange thing sometimes.

Good approach, Mark, although I'd still stick with "I went to school & worked my a$$ off" for kids, for whom it may serve as inspiration. Of course, kids tend to not be as rude as adults, at least in my experience, & usually stick with "cool car", " how fast does it go?" & the like...T

    Just remember:

Spill-Chick well ensure itch ward wee right's spilled property.

(Every word above is spelled correctly, but not a single one is the right word. If it's not clear, it should read: "Spell-Check will insure each word we write's spelled properly.")

    No offense intended.

I do think that "defiantly married" sounds like they eloped against their parents' wishes, came back married, and flipped everyone off about it. :D

While fueling a serviced car, I had a police officer and his partner pull up in a patrol car and ask me if I wanted to swap cars. I said, "Yes, but we would all get fired, but I could say I was trying to catch my stolen car."
They both laughed and asked my if it was as fast as it looked. I told them, "No, it's faster"

That's a great line. :D (Not sure it's the best thing to say to a police officer, though!)

I recall eating in Denny's only once or twice but actually liked it.
Is this because it's America and not the UK I wonder? Maybe I'm just cheap :D.

I drove into town for a haircut yesterday and as I got out if the car I overheard two homeless gentlemen arguing heatedly whether my car was real or a kit.
    Only in Saratopia.

among the many comments on how much did it cost/how much is it worth, I hit a new high at a convenience store yesterday. Clerk asked if my 87 328 GTS was a "300-400 thousand dollar car...

That's funny. One day I drove my 1966 Jaguar Mark 2 to the 7-11....there was a homeless guy sitting on the curb next to me when I got out. He looked over and said, is that a Mark 2 ? I said yes....66....he says I used to own one of those.......but that seems like a really long time ago. I gave him a couple bucks.

Had something similar happen at a convenience store: The clerk asked how much my car cost. Although I have pointed out in the past that my 308 costs less than a new Lexus or M- B, I just said, "Kind of a lot. . . " (True, for me. . . )

He said, "I think a car like that costs $250,000.")

Good heavens! Maybe he thought it was a GTO.

I've also had the "Mustang" comment. Must be the chrome horse.

I remember once walking towards the United kingdom in EPCOT and me with a Ferrari cap on. A Disney employee asked me if I owned one, which seemed odd. I did like telling him that I did.

Wearing Ferrari cap in Europe is kinda funny, and considered to be okay for boys under 15.
