I have the same problem with two out of the three remotes I have. My car is going in to then dealers soon to have the cambelts replaced etc and they said they would have a look then. Sorry this does not help you but hopefully as and when I can update you.

Contact Gobble to see if he can retrieve the data and maybe create a clone

99% chance I could salvage your data to a new remote (or two). I've seen this before where the remote takes a crap but the important data is still there. Try a new battery first though.

If you have more than one fob, alternate them every time you drive or start the car.
If I still understand these "fobs" they have a rolling code, if you use the same one over and over it puts the unused one further behind on the code. So when you try the unused one yes it blinks and does nothing .... Forever. I always alternate my two fobs, and some days I still have to hit the second one 3-5 times to get the car to beep at me.
Don't know if this applies to your problem or not ?

I have pressed my clone for over 5000 times now and it has not caught up, I am going to try and bypass it next time.

After taking my car out about 4-5 times in the last couple of weeks, I used my "other" key. It took 190+ clicks to hear "cheep-cheep".

Wow only 190 plus, hire the neighbor kid to sit and press it for you.
Tell him if he gets a "cheep cheep" from the car you will give him a ride in it.
I have one red and one black, they might both be clones ..... I did send both to gobble last year so there might be a "hint" in the line above this one ;)

So are you saying that if you get the red light on the remote when it is pressed then it might be a matter of clicking the button on the remote until it catches up with the car ?

I have one key & a clone, so basically one key. I have found that when I lock the car - one push gets it done, and I'm ready to start, but if I leave it unlocked, it takes multiple pushes. I've counted a few times, and 7 seems to be the magic number. (All of the above with one or the other key.) Is this SOP?

DB above - yes. If you have two original keys, each has its own program progression with the immobilizer, and either should work with one (or a few) clicks. If your additional key is a clone, and your second key has not been used for a considerable time, your finger may cramp before the car starts.

Sounds like your remote died. The data should still be good though.

    db,
Gobble has successfully cloned many fobs, mine included. If this is a 'second' fob, you're ahead of the game. My car came with only one fob.
