    No late model, normal production Ferrari is a good investment. 550s have bottomed out on depreciation and 599s are still depreciating.

    Buy the 599 because you want one and it has much higher performance and a more modern cabin than a Maranello, and not for an investment.

    Absolutely right. There are a number of threads on the merits of both cars. I think the question is what kind of car will make you happiest. Neither is a great financial investment- though the 550 is likely the safer one today. However, both can be an investment in your happiness.

    I made the change from my 550 to a 599...

    I must admit I think the 550 is a much better looking car, I put nearly 50,000 miles on my 550 with only a few issues.

    My 599 is significantly faster and handles better but it is not as beautiful...
