Thank you chief. To my understanding its called Sahara Metallic. Yeah! And with BLUE leather to boot. Whoa.
Me too, 30T light blue metallic is a outstanding color. Mine has the black interior instead. It seems like some of the 70s 930s were ordered in some pretty diverse colors and combinations. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've got that Clifford alarm keypad on my '76. One of those neat period accessories Thankfully it still works.
Ed Biggie’s 1979 930 Turbo Barn Find video shows a factory fresh Porsche Teile (parts) bag starting at 1:55… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I452FnZWTY8 From Ed's video (a few screen shot images below), I believe the following were included in 1979 930 Turbo Teile (parts) bags: - Cigarette lighter - Hirshmann antenna manual and cleaning wipes - License plate bracket(s) - Sunroof tool - Owafix gloves in yellow bag - Two heavy plastic tire sheets My 1979 Turbo came with the original Teile bag with Owafix gloves and plastic tire sheets but the bag was opened with the accessory parts installed or in the glove box (first two images below). It’s likely that the receiving dealerships opened these bags prior to delivery making Ed’s sealed example extremely rare. Are there any accessory parts in the bag I’m missing? I believe these same Teile bags with accessories were included with U.S. 3-liter Turbos as well. This should be close to a full Porsche Teile bag sans the cigarette lighter and license plate mounts. Mine shows a lot more wear than Eds since it spent many years in the trunk by the tire jack. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Fantastic info. When did the orange Hirschmann wipes first start being included? I've seen these but didn't know what model years they applied to.
Rich, I also have the Teile bag (the cigarette lighter and license plate brackets are on my 930) minus the Sun Roof Tool (my 930 was delivered non-sun roof). Also have the antenna wipes (mine were delivered w/blue? packaging) plus gloves, antenna booklet, tire gauge and the other misc. radio books. While my Teile bag is intact the boys at Stoddard were not kind to it on delivery in 4/79! Bud

The complete tool kit came in that bag. My '79 had the bag opened but all accessories were in there. Tool kit, gloves, another little Genuine Porsche Parts bag with screws for license plate bracket, license plate bracket and tire gauge. I found on Ebay another one still sealed from a euro '78. This one had also had the tire air pump (small in a blue box for euro cars) also sealed in the bag. This one did not have the license plate bracket.
I forgot, there is also two other clear bags included that are for changing the spare tire. One bag and one cover. On the earlier cars one of the bags says 'BF Goodrich". I believe that was the tire manufacturer for the spare on the 3.0 liter cars. Often times as was noted earlier, these bags were opened when the car was delivered. The tire changing gloves and two bags were often found near the spare tire.
Yes sir. In the bottom picture is the tire air pump used on euro cars. It looks like you got an extra bag of tire changing gloves.
The 1978/1979 930’s also had B.F. Goodrich spares but I believe only the 3-ltr Turbos had the plastic sheets with the Goodrich logo (some with the B.F. Goodrich logo, some without?). One just sold on Pelican a few days ago… original porsche plastic gloves and plastic mats - Pelican Parts Technical BBS My 1975 Turbo came with the Owafix gloves and two plastic sheets (one bag, one cover but no Goodrich logos) in the trunk. It also came with a Teile bag that was narrower than the one in my 1979…is it original or perhaps for another part such as the tool kit (the Owafix gloves and bag/cover were separate from the Teile bag in the trunk)? Were the RoW Teile bags different than the U.S. market versions since they didnt include the license plate mounts?
anyone familiar with this 'ersatzteile-taschen ' fur 911 turbo ?? ( for the swb i'm familiar but not for the early turbo's ) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you for posting the claims information. The first 3 charts show coatings failures over a 1- 3 year period. While numerically the 930 problems are in line with the other models, they are likely much higher on a percentage basis (more picky owners?). Certainly shows that there are more than a few early 930's that are not original paint due solely to factory issues. Your last chart shows claims spread over kilometers of use. Even though many of these are likely for small items, the overall numbers shock me at being quite high across the board. Not familiar with the spare parts bag but perhaps it was an earlier Dealer option. Do you have a picture of the emergency package that came with the RoW cars? I do have the Porsche towel but I don't think it has any tie to my '79 930. Bud .
the information comes out a 52 page 'kundendienst qualitatsbericht mit modellbezogenen schwerpunkten ' so when you want i will post more picture's of that here the picture's of the first aid kit from ROW cars Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Blaupunkt CR radio from the early 3.3s was replaced pretty frequently: witness how many high priced cars we've seen listed recently with incorrect radios. Obviously the world has caught on: This mis-labeled, incomplete, confusing listing of a radio with some real cosmetic deficits still sold for $1200.00+ lousy photos and all Vintage Blaupunkt Bamberg Radio Cassette Player Porsche 911 912 | eBay Image Unavailable, Please Login
