always loved them, grew up in a 1970 Chevy Townsman (Canadian Kingswood version) in Germany; got my 1976 Chevy Caprice Estate Wagon, clam shell, 2 years ago. All original.

I have always loved wagons but never had one till now. Last week I stumbled across this one owner BMW E46 325xi Touring. Elderly lady, bought it new and optioned it to the hilt right down to park distance control which is super rare for a 2004 BMW. All papers right down to the sales brochure where she circled her colour choice and options. I picked it up for a song and it feels like new to drive. I'm looking forward to many road trips with this one.

Nice! I love the big clam-shell wagons. My parents had an Olds Custom Cruiser way back when. Great vacation mobile!

    That looks so fine.

Seeing the other render it's very hot rod-rsque.

I suppose I should post some pictures of my subie wagon. Gotta clean her up first, which means I need a break in the rain. Fat chance of that happening.

That rear 3/4 is a Jetta sportwagon!

Very very rare here in the US. There are only 5 on autotrader!

Its just like Jesse Pinkman's car!

I agree with whoever said that Japanese cars are starting to get more attention, and in a lot of cases rightfully so.

Unbelievable!!! Congrats man! I would freak out if I saw one of these! It's unfortunate that no one knows what they were, but that can also be a good thing. You can teach those kids in their Mustangs and Camaros a thing or two, and they still won't know what hit them!

    Wow, great looking car!

How long/many miles have you owned it?

Were all the 5er wagons of that era AWD in the US?

I'd seriously consider one to replace my E39 sedan if/when that wears out, but the stories my co-worker tells me about everything that went wrong on his 550 (sold right before warranty ended) scare the crap out of me. Thing was almost constantly in the shop for something: trans, motor sensors, oil seals, bushings, electrics, and of course tires. Way more stuff broke on his in 4 years and 60k miles than my E39 over 100k miles and 10 years.
