One of the last additions as the old 6 point belts now look terrible against the new interior and are also time ex. Image Unavailable, Please Login
New belts just about fitted. Motec reflashed so we now have gear indicator on screen. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gorgeous in its redness. I can gratuitously encourage Tim to consider the limited edition printed record he mentions in 3324. It has to be a labor of love though.
Very nice. Can I please suggest you add padding around the shoulder straps as otherwise if you have a big one you will have unbelievably sore shoulders. This is why race car belts have padded shoulder straps. I personally would not drive your car with those belts because of that missing padding. Even when I got stopped by a sand trap once in only a 500kg car (entry speed probably near 100mph) I could feel the G's on my shoulders for a day or so afterwards and I had the padding. Pete
Hi traveller, am i in your book-list? Until 2 years ago i told you i'm very interested by your book(s). For me only, i've written a book (only digital, not pressed as a book) about the story of all F40 LM (163 pages) and a second book of the LM-GTE, CSAI and F40 privat-racer-cars (209 pages). Maybe you are interested. For your information i can sent you a part of the books. Sorry for my bad english. Best regards Lutz from Germany
Another small finishing touch. Roll cage protection wasn't working so Kevin had his son, Rorky the trim-mesiter ,whip up a neat little alcantara padded jacket for them. Luxury. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi @ all, just wanted to share this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ue68iLRgy7I Really worth watching........enjoy! Franco Hopefully it hasn´t been posted yet
I've been lurking the forums for around 11 years now without posting but I just wanted to stop in and say thank you for sharing this journey with myself and everyone else. Beautiful car, incredible attention to detail down to every last nut and bolt, and amazingly classy all around. I hope it treats you well for many years to come, thanks again! James
Insane amount of work went into this! the community over at R3vlimited.com (bmw e30 group) really love this thread and we check in from time to time to see updates. I would have to say this is the greatest F40 ever finished/ ~F34R
Tim is a great guy and I feel lucky that he rescued this/his F40 and shared it with us. I warned him that I will make it over "the pond" one day and enjoy his F40 with him. I ramble.
Thank you guys for your kind comments and yes, right now I am delighted with the outcome of the two year adventure, albeit very much not as initially planned. Car is now really finished with new belts, Go Pro etc all now fitted and awaiting two more things, probably a set of spare rims from Michelotto for some slicks and the call from Evo as we move into a more constant weather pattern. That will really be the acid test and I thought we might need a set of slicks to show the car in its best light. Maybe not?
Just a thought, how about making yours into an e book like this Just for once...250GTO ebook - The Nostalgia Forum - The AUTOSPORT Forums I guess that way it can be edited and evolve in time as does the car now its completed
