While looking online at DuPont and Cars.com there seem to a lot of 2012's a few 2014's but very few 2013';s .? Was there a production overlap or have the 2013's just not reached the market yet ?

    Thanks Edward

There is a lot of improvement between the 12s and the 15s, biggest being the glass roof, so naturally there should be a lot of 12s coming in to trade for the 15s.

14s are the ones that bought it and for some reason they didn't like it and giving it back.

For the 13s, they are not at a point to trade in yet, so those are rarer.

    That's my logic.

I just upgraded from a 12 to a 14 with a glass roof, for me it is a mandatory option now.

Yet another model is that the '12s were overproduced for the size of the market, but not years since. Pick 'em.

Outside of the roof, the largest change for 15's were the updated NAV with Apple Car Play and the updated parking sensors.

2012 was the intro year, so a lot of high-MSRP cars were used as demo cars. Hard to get real data, but I cannot recall seeing any 2012 cars with MSRP lower than 360K (I'm sure there were some). The combination of the high option count (lost on resale) and the early "controversy" of the car made for a lot of people screaming about catastrophic depreciation. Lots of demo cars, many sold to secure a place on the F12 or Speciale list, came back in quickly with low prices.

2013 had essentially the same car, though with a chassis software update. Also, in 2013 at least in the NA market, approximately $14K worth of options were made standard equipment. (this further helped stoke the situation as 2012's came back into the market, with similar equipment, a new car was theoretically "cheaper", so dealers tried to dump the used cars quickly (cheaply) and wanted every new order they could get.

IIRC 2014 had another chassis software update and a slightly updated INT system. Also introduced glass roof in volume.

Carplay is now generally available, but as a $4K option.

FWIW we just traded our early 2013 car for a new 2015. We got a very, very good trade value for a 3 year old car, with all the miles. Much better residual value than any of our other cars other than 458 coupe (we traded for F12 at a good time) and F12 (which we traded at a great time for the Speciale). I also have to wait....none available until a May build slot!

My 2012 was 399k window with no glass roof . Got a great deal on it . :) but i just had client with 2015 and apple pay is so awesome and glass roof amazing. But the saving on 2012 is just to hard to also pass up .

Difference between my '12 and my '14, the seat heaters now work quickly, serious heat within two minutes, '12 took 10 minutes and then never got really hot. Suspension seems significantly stiffer! Steering seems heaver.

Correct, but limited volume/production availability. when we got our 2013 car, we had the option but would have involved a "long and at this point undefined" wait.

I think you're right about the suspension. I drove a '12 demo and thought it a bit soft. My '14 seems right for the car, though I would not mind an even stiffer setting than we get in Sport.

Last night I noticed that in the '14 there is a small light that shines down from the switches above the dash, softly lighting the arm rest area too, was not in the '12. It will be interesting to see if anything else shows up different.
