I have that same pair. Very comfortable. I walked all over Italy in them a year and a half ago.

Around DC they are sold by only a few smaller boutiques and it's really hit or miss with Alden sales. I got lucky.

I really dig the laces you paired with your AE's.

Nordstrom was running a sale on Allen Edmonds, I picked up these monk straps for $90.

    Original MSRP: $380

I guess buckles on shoes aren't fashionable anymore :D

For jeans and other casual wear. I have worn Doc Martens for 30 years, before they became popular. Key with them is buying the ones made in England. They last for ever.

    Dr Martens Canada | 1461 - Made in England - By Category - MEN - NAVY - ANILMORBIDO - R15416410

If suit and tie, well I don't have pictures. But all my dress shoes come from John Fluevog Shoes. Another 30 years of buying shoes from there company. In fact they originally brought Doc Martens into Canada, sole distributor early 80's.

Although Fluevog quality isn't as good as it was. Good prices though.

    I like your taste.

I have a feeling this is way too tacky but I was thinking about building a Memorial/4th/Vet Day shoe from AE Custom. I mean, it's shoe #10 so why not :D

    Thanks for the compliment.

I saw that email today also and i admit I was tempted. Then I said to myself, "hey cool idea, but would you ever REALLY wear them?"

Footnote: I didn't click "submit order"

Now that I'm back in SoCal, it's either flipflops or barefoot most of the time. Does that count? ;)

Just discovered this company - Awl and Sundry. They've got a Kickstarter campaign going now. Ordered a blue suede derby and a black monkstrap, with matching belts.

Figured it was time for some grown-up shoes.

In general, I'm currently oscillating between Mizunis (for working out, general around town sneakers) and some Geox loafers (perfect driving shoes!)

That's one of the most absurd things I've read on this forum.

I'm not a fan of high-heals either. I don't "hate" them, but to me they are like those big wings you see on the back of Civics. Now girls in wing tips, that's sexy.

    No.

For once in my life I agree with Shamile.

A good looking woman in the right pair of heels is spectacular. Sorry.

Your shoe game is impressive. You really got a nice collection that goes well with business casual.

I have another pair of jet black calf Alden Wingtips incoming, delivery tomorrow . I'm thinking either going to Shell Cordovan Park Ave's or possibly going crazy with a Scarpe Di Bianco or other boutique shoe maker.
