Is the cover over the seat belt returns standard or an option? Mine does not have them but I have seen cars with and without and I see the part listed at Ricambi.
Here is a photo of what mine looks like as well as the parts diagram. Its part numbers #8 & 29. My car is an '86 GTS with tan interior.

If it was standard issue and not an option, does anyone have a reasonably priced pair for sale?

My '89 has them. There's no indication on the original price sheet/window sticker that they were an option.

I believe that these are the plastic covers that cover the bolt head on the shoulder point of the seat belt, not the covers for the return which is down near the bottom of the seat. I'll check with them anyway.

For the price everyone is charging I would just have one made at a leather shop. These were just units covered in leather.

Sort of. Thats for the GTB. I don't know what the difference is with the part for the GTS but it is double the price at $350 Ea. I may just make my own out of fiberglass and cover with the proper leather.

Does anyone else have a car without these? I don't see how it fastened on to the retracter. No screw holes or anything else that makes it look like a part is missing. How does it fasten on?

My '86 GTB does not have them. I always assumed they were on later cars, but now I'm wondering about that?

My '86 GTS had them; I felt that they were in the way so I removed them. I also removed the bolt head covers. Ditto the cover for the handbrake. If I were driving a luxobarge I suppose they should be left on (goodness, who would want to see anything MECHANICAL?)- but I'm not.

    Cheers,
    Rich

I don't think the earlier cars had them. My '86 GTB doesn't. I don't think my 86 GTS had them either.

Never came up at a Concours in over ten years, not even an Annual Meet.

I saw them on another '86 the other day but I don't see where mine ever had them. No noticeable screw hole in the carpet. If it's not a concourse "ding" then I won't bother investing $700 for them. I may just make some myself out of fiberglass and cover with leather.

    Thanks for the photos.

Anyone own their '86 from new without them? Mine's an early '86. I don't see them on the 308's.
