This may sound O/T, but it isn't. I'm just trying to see how does this sound to you guys compared to the normal M4/M3 exhaust. Does it sound musical, like a screamer, or just louder:http://youtu.be/fgVBDIxQ0O0?t=14s

This one is probably a better example: http://youtu.be/PMbEeqJnFCg

Im not trying to force you guys, I'm just trying to see if you hear the exhaust the same way that i do in the way that it sounds like a gt3 racecar.

These BMWs don't sound like a race car at all, just loud. There are 2 things about sound, loudness and quality. Lawnmowers, tractors, etc are also loud, but have quality problem. What we need here is an F1-like screaming sound (before 2014's F1). Sound from Ferrari XX cars, Pagani Zonda, Carrera GT, etc are the best example. Then F12, Aventador, 458, 360 CS, etc come second after that. Those 911 turbo, Mclaren MP4 and 650, Pagani Huayra, BMW M, Mercedes AMG, etc; IMO, sound more like muscle car than race car, some more with vacuum cleaner sensation. If you are doing high speed, high rpm and roll down the windows, the sound of the wind turbulence is actually louder than the engine.

Please read my posts exactly my dear Peter, I love the 458 too. Unfortunately, I also love Ferrari as a leading and competent producer of high performance cars and their new product 488 GTB, a supercar designed so beautiful different to its predecessor.

What I hate are negative attitudes and silly comments from wannabe engineers to everything new, especially when related to a new Ferrari product they have never driven before. ;)

I don't think this can be right...

The energy from sound is really not that much. Anyone here who's an audiophile would tell you that you could almost certainly digitally reproduce the full 458 sound with no more than 5 kW of energy -- and probably much less than that. 5 kW is about 6 horsepower -- tiny compared to the energies given by the engine.

That's not to say your conclusion is necessarily wrong, just not for this reason.

Sounds interesting on 1st video. Its not screaming, but it is not vacuum cleaner 991 TTS sound.

First one sounds decent and pretty loud for a stock exhaust. Cell phone cameras are tough to judge.

You can tell it's a turbo because on the shift from 3rd to 4th, it sounds like a much larger motor than a 3.9L - that is the turbo effect adding bass to the exhaust IMHO based on a poor recording.

Need to open up the exhaust and see what it sounds like raw. I would not expect that on the regular, stock exhaust from Ferrari.
