Your point about the many high priced early 3'3's we've seen listed with incorrect radios is quite true. Replacing an aftermarket with a proper CR can be difficult not only due to short supply, but because there are RoW and North American versions compounded by "Flat Knob" and "Inner-Circle Knob" subtypes. This looks like the early 3.3 NA type, but, I have never seen one with orange colored symbols. What's up with those?

I have that one, but couldn't remember where it came from. Now I know. Thanks!

What year was this first aid kit introduced? The accessories catalog you have in your catalog appears to be from 1977, as it features the bolt on whale tail that I think was introduced in 1977.

Bud, do you know when the "inner-circle" knob was introduced? From what I can tell in period photos I believe flat knobs were used at least through 1977 (my 77 #0417 has flat knobs still), with the inner circle being introduced sometime after 1977 model year.

    Ryan,
The "Inner-Circle Knobs" for the CR were introduced around the mid-April, '79 build period on NA '79 MY 930's. My 2/79 build car still has the earlier "Flat Knobs". I believe all Bambergs (on the 3.0 cars) had flat face knobs.

    .
Here are two pictures of nice early 3.3 930 NA Type (88 to 108 FM Band) CR Radios.

The 1st shows the "Flat Knob" type that was used in all NA 1978's and 1979's through mid-4/79 Build.

The second picture shows the "Inner-Circle Knob" type that is found going forward through the end of NA 1979 MY 930 production.

There is another inner circle style radio knob in the mid-1970s Blaupunkt where the circle is engraved into the knob instead of raised. You see this frequently on Blaupunkts available on eBay and elsewhere from that time period. I don't know if that style was ever fitted, but I don't think so. The rest of the buttons and model number of these radios match what was installed in Porsche. I think Blaupunkt offered different fascia/buttons and I know Porsche had a special part number for their surrounding fascia. Photo below is an example non-original Blaupunkt fitted to a Porsche with what I think are the wrong knobs. I'm happy to be proved wrong.

Groan. Just when I was celebrating the discovery of a mint-in-the-box Webster compressor for my '78 ROW project, you show up from Holland with a photo of this other compressor. OK. So what is manufacturer of this thing with the blue box??? I guess I should've been suspicious that the made-in-canada webster would be standard for Europe too...

Joe previously posted photos of this 1976 Turbo on the 3-liter thread. There's a photo with the Teile bag in the trunk and it does not appear to have the BF Goodrich logo on the plastic bags. It's either an unsealed Teile bag or the dealer opened it from the bottom (probably the case as it's folded).

I purchased one of these on eBay for $4. Mine seems to have more content. But it is not the exact type you have.

I may settle for period correct. lol I believe my kit may be a VW kit but could you post pictures if you have them of what a 79 930 would have came with? I did find this kit that supposedly was found in a 1979 928? I understand that it was German TUV law to always have one of these in the car?

Would this red box with jack and emergency triangle be correct for a 79 930 RoW? This Picture is from a 81 930 RoW. This is the only time I have seen this red box appear in a 930 tool kit.
