To fender badge or not?
I don't like them either, too many Ferrari badges looks a bit naff in my opinion. You know its a Ferrari, anyone who knows about cars knows its a Ferrari, and anyone who doesn't know probably doesn't care.
RWP- What wheels are those? Nice~ They look like the optional ones on 512TR's- Are they Ferrari or aftermarket?
I'm on the fence as I typically don't like anything aftermarket (except exhaust type stuff), but what's the best source for badges that look stock? Also, see this pic I took in Maranello. You guys realize the factory badges have different fenders with indentations? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I put Yoshi shields on mine and I am thinking of removing them now. You could always get them and remove them if you decide you don't like them.
Thanks. Those are the optional Speedline wheels Ferrari offered. At first I didn't like them, but they've really grown on me.
Yes, cars with factory shields had embossed fenders. It does look a little better that way, but then you definitely don't have the choice to remove them. I think if my car had yellow calipers, I might have gone with no shields. IMO the high quality reproduction shields look great and most think they are factory. I'm not normally one to just stick crap on my cars, but these are legit.
Correct. The only 348s that should have shields are the Challenge, the GTC, or the Competizione. The only 355s that should have them are the Challenge and the Fiorano. Of course, it was offered as a regular option on the regular cars from 1997 (1998?) I believe. But I'm of the belief that the shields are for special Ferraris. My F40 has them (from the factory), my 348 Challenge has them (added after), my 550 does not and will not have them (actively searched for one without them).
It's a personal preference thing. Just like Tubi, Capristo, Alpine, Becker, clear bra, challenge grill, etc. Just like with everything else in your life, do what makes you happy, you're never going to please everybody else.
For the Challenge cars, yes; they are race cars, and Scuderia Ferrari means 'race team'. I come down on the 'no' side for our street cars.
I have them on mine though technically I shouldn't. I like them. The purists will give you a hard time but at the end of the day it's your car .. do what you want with it. Smile and thank them for their opinion.
