Lancia Stratos found in N. California

1972 Lancia Stratos Stradale Barn Find | The Car Build Index

They call it a Stradale, I thought it was "strada.' In the story above they say a Brit gent imported it to the US and drove it across the country and just parked it. I wonder if he brought it in as a tourist driving his own car? I wonder if a barn finder found it and what they paid--it hadn't been run for many years. Or if the Brit was the one who brought it to the auction co.? You would think someone bringing in a non-conforming car would have to make it US legal or are Stratos now old enough to be under the 25 years old rule abd thus require no EPA paperwork?

 

Jeez, people are putting Scuderia shields on these now too?

You can also tell by the rear arches.

 

"rare" Stradale?
Nowadays everything is ok as long as it justifies the word "Rare".
The Stratos is rare by itself, but most of the car were built in road version.
"Rare" Stratos are the works cars.
